Good news everyone! I did a recent trade with one of my friends at a LGS and got a huge increase in my Necron army units! While many of these are still in assembly I have a now substantial force in the works.

I do, however have a few questions going forwards:

1.Do Necron Warriors need Scarabs in their squad as tokens or can I take those as a separate unit?

2.I know my list is a tad unorthodox (it's comprised of a bunch of traded models and some I've bought), but what would go well to finish it off to 2000 points?

3.I'm unaware of how the new detachment rules go. Which themed detachment would go well with a list such as this?

4.I'm looking for Citadel paints to give this army a black and red 'Brotherhood of Nod' color scheme, does anyone know of some good neon red paints that could be easily purchased in the US, or any specific citadel colors?

5.For vehicles, have any recommendations? (Trying to just finish off the list, but having one or two future vehicles wouldn't hurt.)

6.I'm in between making a Catacomb Command Barge in my list, or having two Ahnilation Barges. Should I continue with my original plan for the Catacomb or cheese it up with two Ahnilation Barges?

My recently updated list. (Note: Some models in assembly):

Going through your questions:
1. Necrons and Scarabs are separate units. Until you can get your hands on a Codex try an app like battlescribe or new recruit to get a rough idea of unit composition rules. Even just using the munitorum field manual as a rough guide could help.
2. If you wanted to finish this army off as quickly and cheaply as possible, a shard of the nightbringer/deceiver is relatively cheap and would take the list close to 2k points. If you want effectiveness though, the list looks like it needs more big hitters - I'd consider turning your existing wraiths into a squad of 6 (and potentially buying another 6), and get more shooting units with high damage weapons to round the list off (doomstalkers, doomsday arks).
3. Until you can get your hands on a Codex try an app like battlescribe or new recruit to get a rough idea of how detachment rules work. You have a lot of characters and a mix of different unit types so currently its hard not to recommend the awakened dynasty detachment.
4. If your going citadel, leadbelcher spray followed by contrast black/contrast red/nuln oil would get you 90% of the way to a finished model in minutes. Some drybrushing and a neon colour of choice to finish I guess?
5. Doomsday ark for power (but its a pain to build/paint), Doomstalker for the slightly weaker but easier to build/paint shooty vehicle.
6. Catacomb is a neat choice in a few detachments (awakened dynasty, starshatter arsenal), I'd personally go with that but neither option is bad.

I see, and thanks. Also, judging from my list. I've fount that I have some in this old Forgebane boxset I've traded to have enough for a squad of Lychguard or Triarch Praetorians. From what I have above, which should I build them towards?

Also, silly question: But could Imoketh be in the same army as Tryzn?

Imotekh and Trazyn in the same army is fine, there are no equivalents to space marine chapters for necrons so you can take what you like from different dynasties or whatever.

Lychguard and Praetorians - Lychguard were the top unit for necrons in the index, they have been heavily nerfed in the codex - they are still pretty good though with an overlord. I have a soft spot for Praetorians but it's hard to deny that they they are overcosted and underpowered compared to just about anything in the codex that does a similar role (Skorpekhs and Wraiths do fast melee so much better). One thing I like to do with Praetorians is rapid ingress them onto an objective (so that in my command phase I control it), then rush off the objective to charge something - as they move off the objective some Deathmarks drop onto it (so I continue to hold it), both units can do S5 D2 shooting, and then the Praetorians do more S5 D2 fighting. TLDR, the correct answer is Lychguard, the fun answer is do what you like.
