The Syncline Terrain Case allows a terrain layout to be folded up and stored or transported. I have been refining the hardwood version of the case for the past two years, and the ninth iteration is ready to share.
I invented the case so I could bring completed layouts to my FLGS and friends' houses easily. The Syncline measures 30" x 44" and weighs 2.75lbs. It can accommodate terrain features up to 6" high as long as there is a corresponding open space on the other side. This is the perfect size for a standard Combat Patrol match, and two Syncline terrain cases can be put side-by side create a 60"x44" layout (the standard tournament size). The hinge pins can be removed at any time to create two Kill Team sized boards.
When the case is folded, it measures 30" x 22" x 8". The edge staves are made of poplar, and the laser-cut parts are made of 1/8" birch plywood.
