Let's say I have a Cadian Shock Troop squad in a Ruins. They normally have a 5+ save. Thanks to Recon Element's Masters Of Camouflage, their save is improved to a 4+. If shot by Bolters, they would need a 3+ to save, since they're rolling with a 4+ Characteristic and Benefit Of Cover.

What if they were shot by Flamers or any other Ignores Cover weapon?
Do they still get a 4+ Save, since they're in Ruins? Or does the Ignores Cover negate that part as well as the bonus from Cover?

Looking at the rules, I don't THINK so... But I'm happy to hear arguments to the contrary.

If you lose BoC you lose +1 to save against this attack I think. cause flamer have Ignores covet which makes you loose BoC and then if you have no benefit of cover you have no +1 to save.

Masters of Camouflage
ASTRA MILITARUM WALKER and REGIMENT models from your army have the Benefit of Cover. While such a model has the Benefit of Cover for any other reason (e.g. because it is wholly within a RUIN), improve the Save characteristic of that model by 1 (to a maximum of 3+).

Ignores Cover
Weapons with [IGNORES COVER] in their profile are known as Ignores Cover weapons. Each time an attack is made with such a weapon, the target cannot have the Benefit of Cover against that attack.

To get the improved save characteristic a unit has to have two sources of Benefit of Cover, itself and something else. Ignores Cover weapons prevent a unit from having Benefit of Cover against attacks made with this rule. Since the unit has zero Benefit of cover against those attacks it does not get the improved save characteristic.

I agree. Ignores Cover puts them to their base Save with no modifier for BOC.

Yeah. My initial suspicion is correct.

Aw well. Only so much Ignores Cover out there anyway.
