Evening Folks,
I recently decided to see if I could get my Battle for Skull Pass Night Goblins painted up. I've semi-decided on a scheme and, to my great pleasure, found speed paint 2.0. So I took myself off to my local hobby store (shoutout to Loaded Dice who were super helpful) and picked up a selection of colours. The scheme itself is supposed to be Bad Moonz but ... "moon-ier". Yellow cloaks instead of black. I, quite literally, dusted off some archers to try out my new acquisitions and well.... I made a mess in the right places?
The yellow is patchy and looks like a patchy layer/glaze/wash rather than a substantial coat of speedpaint. I didn't thin them down, I "slapchopped" with grey & white first (after remembering how black and yellow don't mix) and even basecoated one in Army Painter Ash Grey from the bottle.Needless to say, I am very underwhelmed with the way these test models look. But I know I'm missing a key trick here, which is where I turn to you fine folks. How does one make these paints earn their money? I specifically bought
AP Speed Paints so that I could avoid airbrushing late in the evenings/nights and paint whilst I do other things.
So, Dakka Dakka, reveal your tricks to me! Please?
