I bought a 3d printed bit for my 40k army and was wondering if you need to do anything special before you spray on some primer and get to painting.

I don't think so? The most work I've done prepping 3D printed models before priming is just removing the supports.

Not unless it's sticky, which would potentially indicate (assuming it's a resin print) it's not properly cured. In that case, wash it with some isopropyl alcohol and/or chuck it out in the sun for an hour or so.


Otherwise, you should be good to go.
