Bought myself a conversion kit to turn a Redemptor Dreadnought into a classic Boxnaught.

What's the best way to arm the bastard?

I feel like the first one looks more balanced, but that might also be because the legs are bent and it looks like the weight of it is leaning more to one side.

As for in game loadout, I dunno I'm a bit removed from this edition.

Magnets. I highly recommend magnets. Then you can swap arms as desired.

As for wich loadout is best? That depends upon what you intend to target.

Marines, Custodes and the occasional Tyranid.

Magnets.

Are you using redemptor rules? Or classic box rules? The new dreads are significantly bigger then the old ones.

What else is in your list? What kind of firepower do you need? What roles do you need filled?

I took the advice offered and came up with this 1,000 point list.

The Dreadnought is the big vehicle of the list, but will be incorporated into the 1500/2000 point list as I get better at building an army that will hopefully be useful for a while.

Librarian in Phobos Armour sticks with Eliminator Squad. Immunity to ranged attacks outside 12" and Sustained Hits 1.

Librarian gives the Hellblasters immunity to Overwatch and a 4+ Invulnerable save.

Lieutenant is Lone Operative and Warlord. He's essentially is out robbing the enemy of cool stuff while the rest of the army fights.

Plasma redemptor is a good call. It’s a jack of all trades build, and tougher then the ballistus. You’ve already got some decent AV, so the flex is probably more usethen the pure gunboat at the points.
