The bloodiest era of Japanese history, the warring states period was a time of constant conflict, which was ultimately ended by the ‘Three Great Unifiers’ – Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu. This led to the invasions of Joseon Korea, and a possible pathway to the invasion of Ming China, known as the Imjin War, which was marked by many unique military tactics, and the rise of the ‘Righteous Army’.
