Land of Confusion

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but...

I noticed that we (myself included) haven't been doing a good job at welcoming new people who post introductions.

I think we all need to respond to the new folks and make them feel welcome to our little corner of the interwebs.

"Ferrus: Oh cool, when are you going to stop burning people to death?"
"Vulkan: I do not understand the question."

Dakka by its nature attracts a lot of older, veteran gamers, so the focus tends to be more on the in-depth stuff.

Which doesn't mean newbloods should not be welcomed, not at all, but I am not surprised the introductions forum isn't visited much. I occasionally forget it exists since I tend to come here when I want to discuss something specific.

I honestly have enough trouble getting the time to reply to threads I’m active on. Kudos to those who spend their time in the intro section, but I just don’t have it in me.

I do note when a person with a single digit post count drops a reply in the normal parts of Dakka and try to give them a welcome shout out there.

I would go there more, but I get shy about posting in a bunch all at once.
I don’t even know why, but I also tend to frequent dakka in bursts.
