In the mission rulebook for the hold at all cost battle, the defender sets up his troops in the center of the board along with his Heavys. Now, in the mission, there is no step for choosing sides before deployment. Does this mean that the defender must deploy and then the attacker can choose to attack from either long table edge? Later on it says "The defender's reserves arrive from his table edge." Is his table edge the one that the other guy didn't choose to attack from. The rules aren't clear. What do you all think?

I think you've got a fine example of GW's usual penchant for throwing out poorly designed rules/scenarios. . .

Just played this one on Monday and we gave choice of board edge to the defender (the defender designed the middle of the table and the attacker put out the rest of the scenery)  Your free to rule on this yourself.

As a side note I started playing Flames of War about 6 months ago and it is so nice to have a company that will comment on its rules and clarify grey areas.  What is so hard about that?  Having an official site that would answer questions and put an end to this horrific blood-fest of a forum. . .

( Of course, since this will never happen, I am glad YMDC exists to supply a better perspective on both sides of a rules debate)
