The Monolith Bearer. I know. Unless you play this army, you probably hate this guy. But if I'm going to field him as often as he's useful (which is practically all the time) then I might as well go ahead and finish painting him.

Thats a cool model. Tttwo points of contention though. The yellow is a bit thin, and there is this bit of flash on the apex of the model that is driving me crazy. Llike a zit or a scab that NEEDS to be picked.
GAH! Pick it Malfred! Pop that zit!

The "water color" yellow is fairly neat, but it's mostly just really thin. Not a bad start at all, and you weren't kidding about the window stretching ...

The zit is popped.
I really should clarify what's going on in the pic, shouldn't I? The yellow is how I base my gold to get it all lurvely and shiny. This is pretty much just a starting point.

I think the pic is zoomed in too tight for me to get a real feel for how it looks.
Personally I like to photo my minis from a bit more of a distance, no matter how pretty a fig is up close you spot the tiny flaws. Any chance of getting a pic from a bit more distance (possibly resized to maybe 800 x 600)?

Hey Malf, have you tried painting with your eyes open?
Seriously, it looks good so far. I like the color scheme.

I like. I'm assuming you're going for an NMM look on the yellow bits of the Menofix? If so it's a good start but I think the dark yellow could use a little work; even at that size it's a bit obvious that it's just primer showing through the yellow. I really like how the grays turned out.

Jeff: There's no way in heck I'll ever go for NMM. I actually drybrush the metallic golds on top of the yellow paint. It's how I've done gold ever since I saw a Doctor Faustus tutorial about it.

Huh, I couldn't tell. Either way I think it looks good, just need to get the coverage a bit better on the yellow.

Everytime a monolith bearer hits the table I cringe.
