This happened a while ago, so I forget the exact army lists. I have a basic idea though

Me

Shas'O with missile pod, plasma rifle, shield generator, multitracker, target lock, 2 gun drones

8x Gun Drones

2x 10 man fire warrior squads

hammerhead with burst cannons, target lock, gun drones, multitracker, decoy launchers

Him

100+gobbos spread between 2 ungodly large units

3x Rock lobba

Doom Diver Catapult

goblin shaman with doodads

Deployment

Me: My tau started with the commander and the drones off table waiting to deep strike. One of the fire warrior squads was possitioned behind some woods, the other over a hill. The hammerhead was hidden behind a large rock towards the right side of the board

Him:Rock lobbas and the doom diver were set up on the far edge of the board, with hoards of gobbos in front of them. The shaman was on the right of the gobbos

Tau Turn1: As I won the coin flip, I got to go first. The hammerhead rushed out of hiding, using its multitracker to fire its railgun at one of the rock lobbas, wounding it. My fire warriors in the forest stayed put, while the ones on the hill moved forward. Neither was in range so my turn ended there.

Orc Turn1: His shaman attempted to cast a spell on my hammerhead but failed. The rock lobbas all fired as well, with one missing, the second glancing and stunning the crew, and the other glancing and shaking the crew. The doom diver aimed for my fire warriors in the woods but veered of to the right. The gobbos sat there and picked their noses.

Tau Turn2:With the hammerhead out of commision for the turn, and the commander and drones off the board, all I could do was march my fire warriors forward.

Orc Turn2: The shaman missed his spell again, but the second rock lobba rolled a 6 and destroyed my hammerhead. The other one landed next to the woods and wounded 5 of my fire warriors, killing 2 of them. The doom diver wounded 3 but all made their saves

Tau Turn3:both my commander and the drones arrived this turn. They deployed right next to his shaman. The commander let loose his weapons on the nearset lobba, killing 2 of its crew and dealing a wound. His drones managed to take out the shaman, and the independant squad pinned the unit of gobbos.

Orc Turn 3:The remaining crew of the lobba fled to the next one, and fired at my commander, missing entirely. The other lobba fired, but the shot landed on top of the pinned gobbos, killing 17 of them. The doom diver continued its assault on my fire warriors, killing another 4 of them. They passed their check to hold however. The gobbos stood still and ducked for cover, while picking their noses.

Tau Turn 4:While the commander and his drones pinned the drones again, the independant squadron charged the second rock lobba. The pathetic gobbos didn't even get to their initiative. All were killed. The fire warriors continued their advance

Orc Turn 4: The undamaged unit of gobbos, still 50+ strong, attempted to charge my drones, but found that their pinned buddies were in the way. The last lobba, after last turns massacre, decided it was too risky to launch so close to its own troops, so it and the doom diver finished off one my fire warrior squads

We had to leave then. It ended with victory points very close, a tie according to the chart in the rules.

WTF?! I have to buy the wings for my Tyrant seperately?!
