1. can a medic in a command squad be equiped with a plasma pistol from the armory?

the rules allow you to upgrade a troop to a vet, then allow a vet to become the medic,  i thought he could'nt carry anything besides a med-pak, but im not sure.

2. five normal wounds are delivered to a 5 man command squad with medic. all 5 wounds are not saved.
can the medic be removed as a casualty and "save" the generals wound ,leaving the general alive. or does everyone die except the medic who uses the medpack on himself ?

1: Yes. He's a Veteran, and thus has access to the armory. The Medi-pack is not actually in the armory, the only way to get it is via the special rule that a command squad Veteran can buy one for +5 points.


2: "Medi-packs (also referred to as Narthecium) allow a unit with a medic to ignore the first failed saving throw it rolls in every turn."

Since the word is "ignore" that means that 5 failed saves become 4. You can then pull whatever 4 models you could normally legally pull, including the medic.
