This gives me 4 turn 1 assualting units, the 2 liutents and the kroot in the elite and Fast attack slots with another 20 kroot that will be rapid firing on turn 1, antitank might be a tad weak against skimmers with just 3 lascannons and 3 plasma, but atleast I could infiltrate the CSMs onto the objectives, not many scoring units though, starting the game with just 7!
That said with the 3 CSM squads and the sniper kroot if there is infiltrate in the mission then chances are I can start on or near 4 objectives.

78 kroot (86 wounds)

Something wrong with the edit function, the CSM squads cost 110pts each.

You need to have more Chaos troops choices than you have overall Kroot choices.  I count 3 Chaos troops units and 4 Kroot units.  I assume you plan on the Chaos HQs attaching to infiltrating Kroot units?  It may be worth adding some marks of undivided so those Kroot units won't run away (I assume the Kroot would benefit from it).

The term body count is certainly applicable for this army. I think it is a no go man. Too many ways for you to be foiled. Deepstrike, drop pods, even your godzilla nids making your leadership 4 will be a bad bad time.

Kroot are good at getting into assault but they're not that hot at winning it, even with an eviscerator buddy. Any real assault army should whup you, first turn or not.

Depends on how hyper-competitive your surroundings are though. I seem to recall you being in a fairly competitive area though.

Ah good catch, will have to cut some points somewhere for the extra CSM squad.

Drop the plasmas for 30pts
Drop Strength and visage for 15pts

Then drop 55pts worth of kroot to get a 4th infiltrating lascannon CSM squad.

You think dropping the plasmas is a good idea?

What the lietenents do depends on the missions and opponent of course, they can charge on their own or join a kroot squad, against something tough like a hive tyrant or DP I could combine the charge of a kroot squad and a lietenent, if the tyrant/Demon Prince wants to kill the lord it gets max 2 wounds in that turn so I would likely win/tie combat so atleast the kroot would be around to hopefully finnish off said beast in the next round. (assuming its me doing the charging atleast)

Nice idea about the chaos mark, I think they would indeed benefit though I don't think the ICs will be attached to the squads all that often really.

I doubt this list would win any tournaments since we only have infiltrate like half the time, the army is just ODD without infiltrate, pure mean with it against most opponents.

Still I like kroot, always have, want to make a cool army with alot of kroot so I will play it in a few tournies.

Only 1 pod army round my parts (and by that I mean the country) and he runs plasma/melta, no flamer so I think it would be ok.

I don't expect it to be able to take on all armies but optimising the list to take on as many as possible is my goal.

My other options where DE with an archon and 4 raider squads or alaitoc with ranger squads, wraithlords and vypers.

But alaitoc will be gone soon so I am not sure I want to go with them, could get Avatar, 2 Wraithlords and 4 ranger squads though

DE and infiltrating first turn assault Kroot are so frigging retardedly good.

Buddy of mine has been trying it out, and it is seriously cool. Being able to force your opponent to burn shots at kroot or get mauled, and sometimes tie them up in first turn is huge.

Basically a quarter of the time you have them in assault first turn and that means you win the game. So 25% of your games are flat out instant wins (or should be). De is an army that can be nigh unto unstoppable if it goes first, and kroot just make that better.

Not gonna say it's necessarily going to compete with the various tourney power lists but it is way better than shootie CSM for sure, and also probably better than normal dark eldar.

The kroot also help when you don't go first, by being an immediate threat.
