Just wanted to add my two cents on the Necro issue. I played Pete the third round. The game was a draw. Never in a million years would I say Pete did anything disreputable during the course of the game. I had some horrible luck during the game, it wasn't due to Petes rolling but to mine. Statistics is only part of the equation when playing a game involving dice. You just can't take a game which uses a random number generator as a deteriminig factor to seriously. As long as "possible" exists in as large a percentage as it does in 40k each and every game is at the whim of the dice. While I love to win, I play for the narrative more than anything else. 40k is just not the system to use if you want to determine who is "better" than someone else.

It is indeed beating a dead horse at this point. Regardless of what happened nothing can be done and pete has been cleared of any wrongdoing perceived or otherwise. However, it still does not clear him for lying on these forums about me tanking his scores...an issue that everyone still ignores....sort of like the emperor's new clothes. Lazarus.

You know the best thing to do is drop this issue and not bring it up again. When you throw sh*t on someone often some of it rubs off on you.

Necro Guy here. I am going to look at the player sheets tonight and see what the scores actually were so we can clear this up. I understand James that there are more issues here that the dice. I also received your email and will respond today.

It seems to be getting increasingly more common for posters on dakka to come here and throw around the 'cheat' word when they are really just steaming from their bad beat.
It's sad really.

Mr. Murphy is dead right. There are two kinds of players: ones that lose and say "what could I have done better?" and ones that lose and say "who or what do I blame besides me?" There seem to be alot of the latter here. as for: "However, it still does not clear him for lying on these forums about me tanking his scores...an issue that everyone still ignores....sort of like the emperor's new clothes." We don't actually know that he lied. We just know he thinks you tanked him and you claim you didn't. And since you did very clearly insinuate he's a cheater, and we all find that ridiculous, any claims made by you about his lying would of course be given that much less weight. and Dresnar, I give you alot of respect for sticking up for Pete. Big thumbs up.

We, I don't know about the other players, I just know you did it 100% of the time in games you were involved in that were reported to Dakka.

Is that true, so far you know of 5 games he played and only 1 that you can make any sort of claim from.
And this isn't addressing the issue again, but if you want to continue to throw mud after everything is over, mud will be thrown back.
You seem to be the only one unwilling to let this go.

This whole scoring issue will be cleared up tonight when I review the scores.
I also want to stress this does NOT reflect the gaming community in Centeral Florida on The Necro. These are individual cases with individual people. Please don't lump in whole areas or events based on one or more person's personal views. I met James and Peter for the first time at the necro and they both seem like nice people. I think what we have here is two views that have been skewed on thes eboards and boards normally do skew things, and we all know this.

I did vastly overstep when I characterized all Orlando 40k gamers as the type of player to make baseless claims about cheating instead of simply admitting they could have played better. To all Orlando 40k players that I offended with this (excepting of course the people that threw out the ridiculous accusations), my appologies. I notice that some of you have stepped up to denounce these jokers, publicly or in PMs, and I respect that very much.

Wow. Apparently you guys have been pretty busy bashing. One thread locked, another one cruising. I left for a funeral beign called a cheat and came back being called a cheat and a lier. I claimed my scores were tanked in the last game. Up to that point I had perfect comp, sports and painting, plus I recieve some player choices and I think a favored opponent. All my opponents showed the full score sheets straight up, except you in the last game. That said, my soft scores ended up fairly middle of the pack. Unless there is something in the score I really don't understand, you low balled me.
Here's the scores. Let the forum decide. I think the numbers defend my statements alone.
http://www.thenecro.com/necro200640kresults.pdf
I'm not sure when this spiralled out of control. I think the worst I ever said about our game was that you tanked my scores, accused me of cheating and that I didn't think you employeed the right tactics against my army. All things I still believe. If anything I should be pissed. I was the one that recieved low scores because my opponent thought I was cheating when I wasn't, which jepordized me winning overall at a tourny where I had a fairly dominant showing. It also marginalized a win over some solid opponents and stellar generals. Something this I have been working towards for 3 years.
Anyway, this all started becasue you felt I rolled too well in hth against skimmers. In my mind, the true issue was how many times you let me charge your skimmers. I'm playing a fricken nurgle and khorne army. Run away, don't engage me. lol
I'm not going to waste much more time in reposponse, at this point I think people have there own opinions on the people involved in this matter by this point do to the large amount of posts. I'm sure we'll see you next year. As much as I should have hard feelings, I don't, and look forward to a rematch if the situation presents itself.
Long live the necro, one of the finest GTs around, please let no one think any of this nonsense reflects on the event. The Necro Rules... By the tee shirt.

Sorry Lazarus but this time you were the first to bring something up. You might take a breath now and move on. Rise from the grave of dead threads and move on as it were.
