No

Sorry, but if you want to consistently win with Greenskins you have to play fantasy.

Ha ha, very funny edited. I'm new to Dakka but I have been playing orks for about 2 years. so far this year I have lost 1 game in over 50 battles. I like the list alot but I would trade he skarboyz' weapons for rokkits, then equip the boss for cc. Also get rid of the kj and lower their number to 14 and get 5 bs. thenget a 3rd kan and put them in a unit and gve them rokkits.then the list would be good.

I don' t think that bit was aimed at you Booogeyman.

Yeah the boss seems a little bit of a waste to me.

Why have you equipped the Warboss with a big shoota who should be in hth and not the Flash Gitz with 4 Big Shootas?

Also 1 more Rokkit in the tankbustas if you must take them. You need to max everything out where you can.

The list sorta lacks a bit of punch....not enough boyz pushing forward to make enough hurt. You need to swamp them with either vehicles (which is very hit or miss) or mass boyz. Currently it is a mix of both which won't work. Not enough boyz to swamp em and too few toys to stand up long enough to deal enough damage.

This list will not work. It is based upon Skarboyz which are a horrible unit. Why do I say that? Because they cost more points than a regular Slugga Boy and they die just as easily to enemy fire.

Orks don't have a problem killing the enemy when they get into combat (the hidden Powerklaw helps make sure of that), the issue is that they usually don't have enough bodies left by the time they get there. Skarboyz don't help this problem out, they just exacerbate it.

Besides that, this list is just too slow. Not taking any Trukk Boyz simply equals a losing list. Any opponent will be able to sit back and distmantle this army through shooting before it comes anywhere near combat.

I could go point by point and cover some poor wargear choices within the unit too, but I won't bother until the basic formula of the army is changed: Skarboyz need to go ASAP, and you need to get some transported units into the army.

Well, there are two possibilities here

1. You are the best ork player any of us have ever heard of

2. You're the best player in your local area (or avoid playing anyone better than you), and your skill and your opponents' lack of skill combines to overcome the shortcomings in the ork list.

While I think it's fairly obvious that '2' is correct, I'm sure it would be interesting to see you explain how I'm wrong.

Can you please give it a rest? The guy wants help on his list and you have nothing but insults. It's the Army Lists forum, not the Trolls forum. Go away.

I wasn't speaking to the guy that wants help with his list. I was speaking to the fellow that says he only loses 1 in 50 games with orks.

Nothing will help an ork list (except playing it feral). Making sure the original poster understands this is the best service I could do for him.

If you're going to play orks, just field whatever looks coolest in your army. If you know you're going to lose, you might as well look good doing it.

Foot Slogger Orks is near impossible to do well with if your opponent is fielding anything remotely competitive.

IMO, you have way too many Rokkit Buggies, you want these groups to be very small and in separate FoC slots if you can. They will provide the majority of your tank busting power but they're still fragile and can still miss when you need them to hit - easily. Good job on never taking more than 2 Trakks per unit but it's still a waste of your Fast Slots, which are very important if you're going to play a Codex Ork list.

Drop the Skar Boyz to Slugga Boyz and take the Bosspoles off those nobs. They're going to be the ones furthest up the field. The Boss, certainly doesn't need a Bosspole either. If anything put one on the Tankbustas and that's it, and if you're going ot use Tankbustas, buy Ammo Runts for the Nob, 3 of em are 18 Points and are very important to take.

Mauleed has the right idea if you want to be competitive play Ferals or to a smaller extent play Kult of Speed - or just always play Citifight. This list might actually do really well there if you dropped the Tankbustas for Burna Boyz and pulled out the Grots for another mob of Boyz of some kind (more burnas isn't a bad idea).

If I'm going to play a Codex list you want to maximize the number of units that will get in close combat quickly, load up on Trukk Boyz, a Painboss w/ Retinue in Trukk, Stormboyz (maybe a small mob of em), and MAYBE a small stripped down Bike Squad w/ a PK Nob who has a 3+ save. With enough distractions and terrain your footsloggers might live to see combat if you're lucky.

What about footsloggers in an omega game of Cities of Death? Beaten by Voodoo Boyz so Ill just second the idea.

I would think grots are kinda worthless in CoD since you are getting a cover save anyway.

Grots are just as good as normal in city fight. While their cover save is less useful (unless you are crossing a road) their re-roll difficult terrain tests is brilliant & they still draw fire from your boyz & get a 4+ save to boot.

I still hold that Grots are near useless in CoD.

Yeah, they give the mob the ability to re-roll a failed terrain roll, which is nice but you'll only ever get to use that ability ONCE, period. This is because your mob of Boyz is behind the grots for only one turn, and once they get a decent terrain move they should be in the middle of or behind the grots.

And honestly if you're using Footsloggers in CoD, you have to ask yourself why your big mobs of foot sloggers are even being deployed normally and aren't using the sewer rats strategem for deploying multiple 20 Ork mobs much more forward up the table anyway.

I originally thought Orks would rock in CoD. But I've played 4 or 5 games against them now, and my thousand sons just school them every time.

Now speed freaks in CoD, that might be a different story.

Thousand Sons whipping Orks in CoD? Perhaps could you post what lists you both used.

Orks require a slightly different build for CoD (using Elites for the bulk of your boyz since they can take grenades), but with Sewer Rats and fighting things like lower model count armies like TS I can't imagine the Orks doing poorly.

KoS is even more of a problem because you can't really use Trukk Boyz but need to load up on grenade taking Boyz, which mean expensive but small Elite Mobs in Trukks or Burna Boyz who don't have a PK Nob in their midst.

I'm sure some KoS builds could work, but it'd have to be pretty different than the norm IMO.
