Hi, I want to start building a mech SOB force. My plan is to buy Immolators and magnet them so that they can be used as Rhinos (and/or possibly Exorcists with the right bitz). I may end up buying a Rhino or two as well. However, I see various editions of Rhinos and Immolators up on ebay and btown. Are they all the same size? I'm concerned because I came into possession of two Chaos Rhinos, which are of vastly different sizes. Also, I really like the 'organ' Exorcist, and not so much the barrel-o-missiles or twin missile launcher variants. But I'm not sure which is current edition. Can anyone who's been in the hobby for a while please tell me which edition or "Mark #" etc. of Rhino/Immolator/Exorcist is which? Thanks!

The newer Rhinos are larger than the previous version. They also have a single door on each side with a hinge on the bottom, whereas the old ones had doors that had hinges on either side that opened in the middle, if I remember correctly. The exhausts are also different, with the older Rhinos having a slimmer pipe the bends toward the back of the Rhino.

The MkIIc Rhino is the newer chassis. It has square side doors hinged on the bottom as Phausi says with a rear ramp that actually folds down. The older version is smaller, more wedge shaped and has center-split circular side doors and no real ramp. Here's a pic of a razorback based on the old Rhino chassis. The old Immolator looks very similar and uses most of the same bitz: Here are also: Old Immolator New Immolator Exorcist (all links courtesy of google image search)

Thanks guys!
Does anyone know if the picture of the organ Exorcist the current model, or is that one OOP? I've seen a twin missile launcher version (though it might have been a Whirlwind coversion) and a single big barrel - o - missiles, which may be forgeworld, but I'm not sure...

The organ is the GW version, the Twin-ML is either a home-brew or the FW version.
I've got a bunch of the older immolator models that I've created stormbolter and missile turrets for so that they can be used for all three vehicles. I'm sure this can be done with the new immy too. Thats the smart way to go IMO.

I believe the GW Exorcist is mail-order only. Or at least it was when I asked a few months back.

Call me completely insane, but if I wanted to be able to identify the Forgeworld kits, I'd go to the Witchhunter part of the Forgeworld online store and look at the pictures. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/QUATERMASTERS_STORE_WITCH_HUNTERS_27.html But that's probably just crazy talk. I'm sure it could never work.

Posted By Arioc on 07/27/2006 2:34 PM I believe the GW Exorcist is mail-order only. Or at least it was when I asked a few months back. Correct. It originally was availible in stores, but it was anounced before it's release that it would only be availible for a few months before it was mail-order only. Can anyone give me a good reason for it?

At the time it was released, I was working hobby store retail and our sales rep was saying the production and shipping costs were too high for the price of the model.

I can see that. A GW Exorcist is rather heavy. Lots and lots of metal.

Lots of people have also just modified various versions of the Whirlwind turret (or scratch built their own) instead of paying the price GW wants for the "official" model. Really depends on how much money and time you do or do not have. Enjoy!

Much as I like the classic style models from Rogue Trader Days, the new Rhino kicks the old one's ass... I mean really, you're trying to tell me 10 guys will fit on one of those?
