You are likely using either Opera or Safari as your browser which doesn't really work with the Dakka text editor.

You have two choices when starting a new thread:

1) Put a < br > (without the spaces between the letters and the brackets) after each line. That will create a single line break. If you put two of those, you will create two line breaks, etc.

2) Create your initial post but only put like a single sentence in it. Then reply to your original post using the "quick reply" box at the bottom of the screen. The quick reply box formatting tends to work with almost every browser.

I'd suggest downloading Firefox. It's free, works with Dakka, and is, IMO better than Safari.
