The Neural Shredder counts as strength 8 and is used against leadership rather than toughness.  I was in a situation where I sprayed a squad of Crisis Suits with it.  The Shas'o is leadeship 9, but the regulars are only leadership 8.  In the rules for the Neural Shredder it states that you use the " models' " leadership characteristic.  Does this mean that roll against leadership 8 (according to the mixed toughness rules - the majority of the unit is leadership 8) or 9 (accounting for the guidance of the leader?

Since the Shredder uses LD as the toughness, I say majority.

Agreed, just pretend the toughness column is replaced with the numbers from the leadership column. The presence of a T9 model doesn't have an effect on the majority of the T8 models in the unit.
