My current army list just does not do well. It can go up to 1500pts, but because some of those points are non-necron units, I usually keep it at less than that. Whenever I play games with this list, I usually tie or lose by just a small amount. It is worth noting that the people I play most are chaos marines and tau. My list is as follows

32 necron warriors- 576pts

3 necron destroyers-150pts

8 scarab swarms-96pts

1 necron lord(w/ misc. wargear) 200pts

This is the basic list but there are a few other units that can be added in to make it go to 1500 pts(almost)

6 pariahs

1 monolith

Auxillery Necron lord 100-200 pts( give or take misc. wargear)

I would like my army list to be one that can handle tau and chaos mostly, but be a general army list as well. Any suggestions? I will apreciate the suggestions a lot

Pariahs look cool on paper, but they are slow-moving so will rarely get the chance to Assault against Tau, and despite having a 3+ save they are terribly fragile compared to everything else in the 'Cron list because they don't roll WBB. Lose them first. Save them for larger battles if you really want to use them.

Warriors are awesome infantry, but their weapons are still only rapid fire. A big unit of Immortals with a Veil Lord are are an awesome mobile fire squad that can tear apart almost anything in the Tau arsenal. With a Monolith in there to help WBB rolls this unit will really make a mess of things. You should try to add another Destroyer or two to add more survivability and more shots per turn to that unit. These two units will greatly improve your shooting. You could also stand to lose some Warriors for a second small squad of Immortals if you can afford it too.

Thanks for the tips. I have only fielded Pariahs once and I will never make that mistake again. I think I will up my destroyer squad to 5 and buy a bunch of immortals for some kick-butt firepower. Also Instead of using the monolith, I could put in more destroyers.

With the amount of infantry in your list, a Monolith is good to help your WBB rolls.

However if you want more Destroyers you'll need to reduce your Warrior numbers to fit them in. Try not to lose that Veiling unit of Immortals though. 8-10 Destroyers and 8-10 Veiling Immortals is a fast strike army that can lay down at least 40 shots of fire a turn, wasting almost anything they want.
