That last line was in error (it links to nothing), but the first three links should work fine. And no, I won't risk the text mangler!

Epic means any number of things. 750 pt battle minimum. 500pts is like Warhammer 1500 at a guess, so I'm thinking 750 is like an 1850 match. Some abilities only show up with epic warcasters (or mostly with epic warcasters) like Elite Cadre (one unit type gets enhanced stats and maybe abilities), Bonded Warjacks (extra focus and or extra abilities). Epics have always come with decorative bases. They represent character advancement in the warmachine universe. In Feora's case, a warjack fell on her. So now she's holding that warjack weapon in her hand. Butcher went crazy(er than normal perhaps?) and so his rules and model reflects that (notice one of his own troops on the base). If you play large matches you can't play an epic caster with their original in the same army. In campaign play, most rules disallow epics in the beginning. If you haven't played warmachine, then epic warcasters (army general/ spellcasters in warmachine) are advanced versions of an earlier warcaster. So Butcher, Skarre and Caine were in the original release of Warmachine rime. And now Epic Butcher, Skarre and Caine are in Warmachine: Superiority.

I'd say its closer to 2000. A 750 point game is a pretty significant battle in Warmachine.

But 500 is like 1500?
I haven't played enough 40k in recent years to really have a feel for it.

In terms of gameplay and speed I' say its closer to 1000pts. The leap from 500 - 750 is significant because you can still only use one Warcaster and even with an Epic that means you have a fair number of troops. The game gets slower at 750 due to this especially if you play Menoth or do something crazy like take Alexia and start pumping out undead :-)

Nah. 2000 = 1000 pretty much. At that level you get 2 warcasters and a good mix of abilities.
Epic is much more equivalent to the 1850. Slightly fuller armies, but still somewhat limited in what you can fit.

500 is definitely akin to a 1000-1500 40k game with the emphasis on the low end of that estimate. Your points costs are too low to have much redundancy; most armies will be based around one or two tricks.
at 750 things open up some; you can afford to take multiples of some units and also to field other units that aren't as viable at 500. ATGMs are a good example - at 500 they're nearly 20% of your total army wrapped up in six models; in 750 they're much less of an investment.
1000 is definitely more akin to a 2000 point 40k game.

They look nice but Feora's base is painted wrong, fire is hotter and the base not at the top so therefore the highlighting should be reversed with the darker colours on the top.........

I have heard some rumbling on the PP boards that Mags may be able to be fielded in Hordes armies as a Minion Warlock as well as being a Merc Caster. Would be interesting to see if this is true.

Yes it is true. He can be used in place of a second Warlock in 1,000 point games and counts as a Warlock for field allowances.
