I recently converted a battlewagon for a friend but decided that i liked it (quite alot) and so kept it for my self and have begun to construct an ork army however the loadout i gave it isnt really that great. I decided id like to construct another and need some advise on whether i should go all dakka or use rokkits and a zap gun.

also are the gunwagons from forgeworld any good from a gaming point of view.

I was once told
life is like a journey on an open road
but never look back into those days of old
just keep on walking with your head held high
beneath the light of that diamond sky
and set your sights on something just out of reach
and maybe someday you'll cross paths with what you
seek.

They provide a lot of mobile cover and are very cool looking models, IMHO. I dont play Orcs, but a few of my buddies do and I have seen that they perform best when there are two of them or a looted demolisher to draw fire away from them. so long as your enemy is not overly shooty, they will have to choose which to fire at. with armor plates and grot riggers, the tank has a better chance of rolling forward, and hey, if it gets to fire a few times, then all the better.

but the battlewagon itself can be game changing if it disgorges twenty boys into a unit. a few buddies of mine screen their transport tanks with squadrons of wartraks and guntruks as well, which works very well for them, you may want to give that a shot. They all run their battlewagon with the zap gun, but as far as the number crunching, ask some of the statisticians that haunt these boards.

Good luck with the new army!

I strongly recommend mounting the weapons on removable turrets or other mountings (magneticallt attaced if necessary), so you can swap them from game to game (and add different weapons, if the new ork codex has different options which is entirely possible)
