Since the Tyranid dont have tanks or any sort of technology, it has made it quite hard for me to figure out how they are supposed to move.  I need to know the different distances of all the guys in a Tyranid army.  Also, does a Broodlord have to take a retinue of genestealers or can i field him alone?  Thanks in advance for helping me out.

All tyranids move the standard infantry 6" move plus any special movement noted in their description (fleet, move as cavalry etc.) Also note that they all get the Move Through Cover or whatever it's called for the rought terrain move, and monstrous creatures get to reroll that because they are monstrous creatures. Nothing too complicated.

Broodlord MUST take retinue.
Beasts are: hormies, ravs
flying: winged tyrant, winged warriors, winged rippes, gargoyles
Deep strike with special movement: spore mines
Fleet: Stealers, gaunts,

You can give leaping to some as well but it only gives 12" assault not fleet as well.
