I'm looking for good places to find furnishings for my city project and wanted to share. This site: http://www.diecastdirect.com/types/cars.htm has all sorts of die cast metal cars, 1:43 scale is best for 28mm games. Their list of 1:43s is HUGE and you'll have to scroll through a lot of $20 collectors items till you get to the cheap and cheerful stuff. The main car page lets you search by type, scale, make, all sorts of stuff. Won't let me link images darn it... 5 volkswagons for $15 http://www.diecastdirect.com/asp_modules/add_item.asp?ProductCode=CAR47501 set of 6 50s pick up trucks (I always thought 30s to 50s cars looked the most 40k esque) $30 http://www.diecastdirect.com/asp_modules/add_item.asp?ProductCode=CAR25007F Funky 1 man dune buggy $3 http://www.diecastdirect.com/asp_modules/add_item.asp?ProductCode=HW2004-098 30s delivery truck $6 http://www.diecastdirect.com/asp_modules/add_item.asp?ProductCode=KL94571 Grab bag of 60s and 70s cars $100 http://www.diecastdirect.com/asp_modules/add_item.asp?ProductCode=LOT-O-6070 Similar modern set http://www.diecastdirect.com/asp_modules/add_item.asp?ProductCode=LOT-O-MOD There's more treasures in there, I think shot up, burned out cars are just the thing to complete a proper wrecked city.

I don't geddit. Are you building a 40k city - and considering adding normal cars??? That would IMHO be a waste of time and money as there is no way you could make them look 40k enough (unless maybe the Hummer).

I'm actually doing a dual use city for 40k and superhero games. I want a tim burton, Batman sort of place with gothic buildings, pipes and rubble. I know that most real world cars don't look quite right by some do, for example the 1939 Lasalle alas the diecase version is $92... But I think most cars from the 30s-50s with some ink and dirt will make fine terrain for 40k.

Here we are $5, 1948 Tucker http://www.diecastdirect.com/asp_modules/add_item.asp?ProductCode=YM94229B The 41 Ford is better http://www.diecastdirect.com/asp_modules/add_item.asp?ProductCode=FL1941-01 But pricer at $15. The Hummer is boxy and 40k ish but is just too famous. These are not obvious to modern views as real world cars and have a certain impracticality about it that I can see an Inquisitor or hive city worker climbing out of one.

Hey KEndoka... . Games Workshop made a city for Cityfight a few years back.. that had normal cars.. they melted to look burned out.. If it good enough for GW.. wouldnt you say it might fit ok.. I mean they made the game and they made the terrain.. I wouldnt think they would be wrong... Or perhaps nobody is wrong.. just build your cities to your liking.. I checked the Eye of Terror Codex it wasnt in there.. I remember a pic of the IRON LEgion Chaos army storming the edge of the city.. and in the streets were the wrecked cars.. oh anyway.. I dont remember the issue..

Great find! I've been looking for just this sort of thing for my much postponed 'Stealer cult list. And in my opinion, for what it's worth, Pretty much anything from the 40s and most stuff from the 50s can be gothified by simply adding a garish amount of ornamentation. Time to press mold some eagles and gargoyles, methinks.

And skulls! Lots of skulls! The Pegusus gothic building comes with oodles of gargoyles, I'll have to save some for other uses.

My three year old has one of those dune buggies and I think they are way off in scale. I would say more like 1:50 scale. To small to fit a fig into the seat. I'm more interested in this ATV for rough riders. Cool page thanks Kid K.

I've seen the Reaper Exarch with both weapon options and both look like things you can buy in sex shops. A weapon should not look like this, not even a Emperor's Children weapon. -Symbio Joe |

Glad to be of service.
Have you seen the Void ATVs though, even at the right scale toy ones might not work.
www.discounthobby.com has them.
