Overall, I am nothing short of amazaed at how good everything turned out. Vehicle conversions are far more difficult to do then infantry conversions, and it took me several tries before I found componants that worked together. I tried to use as little of the tau hull as I could, because, while it has the correct sleek look that fits in with the valkyries themselves, the tanks are not tau tanks, they are Valkyrie Space Marine Tanks, so, hopefully, I didn't use so much that it's going to get in the way and confuse people. Anyway, onto the pics. Vehicle #1 Striker Battle Transports. An Orbiital Insertion Transport. I am very happy with the way the front of the vehicle turned out. To me, it looks like it could withstand the heat of atmospheric entry. The wooden dowles coming out from the winglets will be painted to be manuvering thrusters. With the additional boosters on the back, it looks like it could easily get back into orbit when it needs to. This will have the same rules as a rhino.

Vehicle #2 Tsunami Battle Tanks. An Orbital Insertion Battle Tank. I tried to follow the tradition of a battle-tank and a transport-tank looking like they were made from the same template. I am particularly happy about the radiation cannon, which bombards an area with levels of radiation that literally liquifies troopers inside their armor, turning them into a substance not unlike pea soup that spills out the seams in the armor making a horrible puddle. Rules-wise, this will have the same rules as a Vindicator with a machine spirit, a storm bolter, and a pintle-mounted storm bolter.

And here's a couple shots of the fleet all-together.

Enjoy, everybody. Pics of the Thundervina coming soon.

Man, that's the joy of Anime! To revel in the complete and utter wastefullness of making an unstoppable nuclear-powered combat andriod in the shape of a cute little girl, who has the ability to fall in love and wears an enormous bow in her hair. |

They look alright. I'd be worried about all the gaps between the kit-bashed parts.
Also... I don't think the cannons are phallic enough.

you should be required by law to list parts. I recognize the tau hammer heads and maccross superveritech bodies, the rest is a mystery.

Sorry mate, but when I see some pics of them with the gaps filled and a slap of paint on them I will be better able to pass judgement.

nice use of C0D pipes to make cannon, but I'm not sure they fit the Valkries look - I may well steal the idea for my orks though

So the original idea was kind of interesting but not really necessary (Female Space Marines? Yes they are called Sisters of Battle). These tanks just don't do it for me. For a start they are completely un Space Marine. The Adeptus Mechanicus cannot produce Grav Tanks. The only piece of Anti Grav Tech left is the Land Speeder, and this is highly prized and difficult to reproduce. The idea that these female Marines are linked to the Adeptus Mechanicus makes the wide spread use of grav tanks very odd and out of character. Secondly its so obvious that they are xenos tech, the whole chapter would be hounded by the inquistion and the adeptus mechanicus! It would be a great idea for a non Imperial human faction, either Tau Allies or another non Imperial Human Race (I really think that 40k needs this alternative humanity, i mean Fantasy has Empire and Bretonnia so why not?). The look also worries me, the obvious un 40k look of the weaponary. I love conversions and alternatives but they have to fit the feel and the spirit of the universe in question. For me these guns look way too Buck Rogers and no way enough like 40k weapons. I'd love to see them painted though, and I still like the conversion work on the infantry its very characterful. To work better as an army though, I think these will need new Armour.

I recognize the tau hammer heads and maccross superveritech bodies, the rest is a mystery. --The front portion is from a gundam, I want to say the Goon, but I'm not entirely sure, since I wasn't looking at what they were called when I bought them. The engine rockets are from another gundam. No idea which. It would be a great idea for a non Imperial human faction, either Tau Allies or another non Imperial Human Race (I really think that 40k needs this alternative humanity, i mean Fantasy has Empire and Bretonnia so why not?). --Yeah, sometimes I think it'd be great to just pass them off as a human group of techno-barbarians that have been isolated from the rest of humanity since before the great crusade, and have now allied with the Tau. Maybe that would get these gosh darn fluff nazi's off my back.

Doc',although i was highly impressed by your earlier models...these....no.just no. It doesnt seem to have to slick look i expected them to have. Its too bulky,'everywhere' poking pieces (compensating=)) and just....no.
I had in mind you would use the Tau tech but this is a little off.Maybe if you have the spare parts, why not splice a piranha and a 'fish for the more streamlined, fast look?
Any bikes on the horizon?
Dont take it as an insult though(that may sound lame) but i just dont like them.Congrats on managing to pull it all together even with the hating on the whole concept (me likes the idea though)

If I had to do it over again, I'd save the vehicles till last, because they are really hard to do.
I had in mind you would use the Tau tech but this is a little off.Maybe if you have the spare parts, why not splice a piranha and a 'fish for the more streamlined, fast look? --Yes I'm using the Pirana for the chassis for the thundervinas, so hopefully that'll turn out better.
Any bikes on the horizon? --I have a concept for some nice hoverboards, but no real plans at the moment, since I never field bikes.

No not Lost and the Dammed as these are Chaos followers. Maybe I should make the point a little clearer. A non Chaos/Imperial faction. An alternative 'good' humanity. A faction or race thats isolated from the Imperium but isnt tainted (too obviously) by Chaos. Like an alternate Republic or race. Like I said Fantasy has Empire, Bretonnians, Cathay, and Kislev. 40k only really has Imperium or be dammed.

pieman, the green turbines and weapons are not green stuff. The color of green stuff is changed by how much yellow or blue you mix.
The thing about having a "good" human faction, is that it would have to be equal to or more powerful/wide ranged as the imperium. Otherwise, the imperium would have induced them, whether it be willingly or by force.

Not necessarily. We have a lot of examples in the fluff of the Imperium simply avoiding a small area until they can summon sufficient resources to take it out. If there are more pressing matters, which there always seem to be, it could take centuries before they actually deal with a newly discovered threat. Also, the Imperium simply may not have disciovered it yet.

How about the Valkyries and their grav-tank-producing henchmen are living somewhere in rogue space, beyond the reach of all but the most determined Inquisitors? Maybe they stay there because that kooky corpse-god had a female line or two that were scattered by the same warp experiments that scattered the male primarchs (ref. Horus Heresy vol. 2, False Gods), and he just assumed that girls couldn't handle all that warp energy or something.

An alternate background suggestion to defend against the fluff nazis:
A same republic of Humans with enough tech and military power to hold off anything but a full crusade. So the techpriests engineered a virus to eliminate them, but preserve their technology. Unfortunately the Machine God decided it only effected males, killing off the majority of the men. Those that survived were rendered weak, sickly, and impotent.
Nice conversion work on the army, Doc

They need to be beyond the outer rim. But then of course, when you think of placing them out of the Imperium's reach, wouldn't tyranids have consumed them already?

It a big galaxy. The Tyranids are attacking on the eastern frings and up from below the galactic disk in the center. They are not surrounding the entire galaxy.
