1.  Is legal to use psychic powers for shooting at an enemy unit (after infiltration and/or deep strike?) within  SM auspex  range (after you rolled number of inches and the enemy unit was close enough)?   It may be harsh launching that fury of the ancients (?) SM psychic power that goes to the edge of the board before the 1st turn (after passing the psychic test of course).  Also raises the question of whether the use of the psychic power at this stage "uses" up his 1 psychic power per turn  when his real turn comes around.

2.  The DA blades of reason says you get extra victory points for each dead enemy model, do you treat vehicles as one roll no matter how many crew in the vehicle?  I was thinking it's one roll per dead vehicle.

3.  My friend was still trying to figure a way to Rhino rush and he may have found it.  With the BA SM, their scouts can get Rhinos.  On turn 1, they then have a commander attached  to the squad (Inquisitor perhaps? armor 4+) shoot out the top fire point making the vehicle open-topped (there they have an open topped vehicle because everyone has 4+ armor).  On turn 2,  the commander detaches (but still shooting out fire point, leaving it open-topped), the Rhino moves 12 inches, scout squad disembarks and can assault.  Does this sound legal?  Sorry for the verbose explanation but not much choice.

4.  Calidus Neural Shredder a str. 8 weapon, therefore an IC killer, even though it compares to LD stat.?  I think it still does, boy, is she nasty.

5.  If a Necron unit teleports thru the monolith while in CC with a SM unit, does the SM unit just sit there or get a  3 inch consolidation move?

6.  Say a Necron unit in CC has Necrons laying down that have yet to roll to come back,  when you move your SM unit to move in 6 inches to continue the combat (say it was a draw from previous round of CC), do you have move around the "temporarily dead" Necrons like they're actually there (can't stand on top of them in case they come back) or you can move over them but just don't end up on top of them?

7.  The entries for the SM termi squad and the Term Armor description under SM wargear seem to contradict each other.  The squad entry allows Deep Strike evens if mission doesn't include it, while the wargear entry sounds like you need the mission to have it.  So which is correct?  Translated literally the SM commander who buys the Termy armor attaches to the Termy squad but can't deep strike with the squad (out of embrassment does he say,ooh umm sorry guys go on without me, I left my burrito in the techno microwave, the techmarines hate it if leave anything in there for a whole battle.) .

Whew, thx for any help and reading this far.

Under the couch

1: Most psychic powers follow the rules for shooting... so it would seem to be legal to use such an attack.

2: I suspect that the Blades of Reason aren't intended to do anything against vehicles, since they're not exactly prime torture material. But there is no way to use the crew for this either, since nowhere in the current rules does it tell you how many crewmembers a vehicle has.

3: "With the BA SM, their scouts can get Rhinos."

Um, no they can't.

"On turn 2, the commander detaches (but still shooting out fire point, leaving it open-topped)"

This is not possible, since shooting happens AFTER you disembark. And under the current rules, the vehicle only counts as open-topped for your opponent's shooting and assault phases.

4: I'm not sure what you're asking here.

5: The Squad just sits there. They haven't won a combat, the other squad has simply gone.

6: The 'dead' Necrons have no effect on the game at all. They are just placemarkers.

7: This has been fixed in the Wargear book. All Terminators always have the ability to Deep Strike.

Question 4, the neural shredder counts leadership as toughness, so can only insta kill something with a leadership of 4 or less.

I disagree on instakill on Ld 4 since instakill is strictly for Toughness vs. Strength. The Neural shredder uses Strength vs. leadership. the formulas are not compatible therefore the Neural shredder cannot instakill anything.

Can you D.I.G. it?

thx, insaniax for the responses.
1. Does using the psychic power before the game starts, count as his 1 psychic power per turn usage and thus doesn't get to use a psychic power on his 1st turn?

2. Yeah, that's the way I played it, was no vehicles, since I wasn't sure, not a game breaker but trying to be as fair as possible.

I thought #3 sounded fishy, so you must have open-topped in the vehicle profile (BBB pg.62 - disembarking) already for you to pull off the "Rhino rush".

4. Yes, that's what I was asking. Does the Nueral shredder instant kill toughness 4 and under models? It seems like it does it just does the act of wounding a different way. "If a creature is wounded by something which has a strength value of double their toughness value or greater and fail their save, they are killed outright and removed as a casualty."-(BBB pg.27 - Instant Death box). Here it doesn't say how you wounded just if it (shooting weapon, SM power fist, etc) wounded then compare the strength of it to the toughness, if double str. to the toughness and failed save (if they get a save, Neural shredder AP-1) then instant kill.

5. Wow, that's harsh. Can the Necron player can do teleport on the other players assault phase?

6. That one's really tricky trying to figure out the placing of the Necrons if there's no room to place the models after WBB.

7. Hmm, that Wargear book has some usefullness after all, I guess I'll have to break down and get it.

The vehicle rules say the crew are counted as part of the vehicle. So it's all one model however many crew are inside. You can clearly see two crew in a Tau Piranha, for instance, and they would have personal weapons and be able to shoot them over the side. But in fact they count as fixtures and fittings so they can't shoot and do not count as casualties if the vehicle is destroyed.

OTOH the drones count as weapons until dismounted, when they become characters, and this can happen if the vehicle is destroyed.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
