Ok...I have searched the forums(and the new Tau FAQ) to no avail...

My question is "Are SDTs one large unit of several teams or seperate teams?"
If this has not been resolved then please state that to be the case, I don't want to start another runaway thread on the subject. :S

Greetings. If multiple SDTs are purchased for one Heavy Support choice, the SDTs are seperate teams, not one large team.

1 - The main rulebook describes multiple units purchased under the same force organization slot setting up and operating independantly (sorry, can't remember the page offhand, it's somewhere before the Standard Missions, I believe.)
2 - The Tau codex clearly defines what is a unit (again, no page reference, I believe it's before the actual army list.)
3 - The Tau codex equates Team with unit. The SDT section clearly defines the contents of a Team.
4 - Therefore, because each SDT is a unit, and multiple units purchased under the same force organization slot set up and operate independantly, they are not one large squad.
