I'll pick one, you find A GW fig of similar size and importance that just blows this one out of the water. Basic unit hero.

I've seen the Reaper Exarch with both weapon options and both look like things you can buy in sex shops. A weapon should not look like this, not even a Emperor's Children weapon. -Symbio Joe |

Yeah Ironkodiak- if you wanna win immediately just choose Fitz's figs. No one can argue they're below GW's standards since he got his start at GW and was one of their top sculptors

Show them a Sebeki, now those are some awesome sculpts. Kinda feel sorry for the competion (not really). The Heru champion probably not the best start, but he isn't bad either.
And no, SuperJohn, he wasn't the Dark Eldar man. Wrong system. He was the Dark Elves man, which is one of Fantasy's most attractive figure lines. There was hope that if Christ Fitzpatrick had been retained (or paid enough to make it worthwhile), he might get to redo that terrible Dark Eldar line. But GW is cheap and Chris moved on to form Crocodile games. Good for him too, since his figs rock.

Dice monkey- you can't pick BOTH sides- or we get a situation like that where you pick one incredable mini and one horrid pile of crap. Observe: Heroic monster character show down: Don't like that? I'm clearly biased toward Nelson, and to be fair he's on a whole other playing field so maybe it's really not a fair comarison... So goats vs goats: (no goddly sculptors allowed this time)

I'll bite...once. Of course, Beloved of Sobek stomps those Lizardmen. You took one of the crappier GW sculpts, and put it up against the best Wargods has to offer.
And Fitz did a lot of the Dark Eldar as well...though unfortunately not the plastics. I was never a huge fan, but the guy is talented.
Pretty simple for me to satisfy requirements.
Dryads: Less than $3 a model. Plastic. Customisable. Better than any Wargods troop or basic hero.
As for metal...GW's metals haven't greatly improved. Very hit or miss these days. But Wood Elf highborn with the two-handed sword kills those. Even the Beloved of Sobek (which is awesome).

If I wanted to be cruel i would have shown some Yeti on Wendigo action. GW has always been inconsistant with several meh or fugly minis for every good one. Wargods thend to be mostly meh with some great ones.
Of course Crocodile is a smaller company and their models have been improveing constantly were as GW has been consistantly inconsistant. Fugly vs Fugly

Are you sure about that? Man, I must've blotted that out, as the only figs that don't totally suck are the Haemonculii and Vect's slave girls. That said, the Wyches and Incubi are the "best" (best of the worst) in that line. Perhaps the horror of those figs caused to great of a strain on my poor psyche and as a form of self defense I suppresed the truth since Chris's other work has been exemplary. Seriously, are you sure? I know there was a lot of talk about him *possibly* doing D.Eldar, but I would've sworn he left/quit GW before doing so... Or were those D.Eldar sculpts like his first "probation" sculpts for GW? That said, the late 90's wasn't exactly a golden age of GW sculpting. I guess even Picasso had his bad days.

So these are tons better................ ....................than these? I personally find the mean trees to be some of the more overrated GW figs to come out in years. You keep going back to the versatility of the figs, but that NEVER was a part of the discussion you stated simply that GW had the best sculpts in the business. Price wasn't a factor, and neither was the adaptability. Here's probably the worst unit sculpts in the Croc lineup..... Are they worse than these......? Now some of Croc's best stuff..... Remember that most Wargods figures have to fit into regiments, so they have to be mostly vertical. Most of Croc's basic troops are pewter, $3.00 each, and cheaper when bought in a unit (usually 2.50 each). My whole point is that GW isn't hands down the best sculptors, isn't hands down the cheapest, and certainly doesn't have the best rules. With all that how can they justify Bi-annual price hikes? FYI: Fitz not only did much of the Dark Eldar line, he did the current Banshees, the Female Commisar (the fig that got him the job), Nicodemus Mordheim Wizard, Albion Truthsayer, Albion Dark Emissary, Mengil Manhides Manflayers, Lucrezzia Belladona, and most of the Dark Elves.

The problems with these comparisons are the paintjobs. I'm sure others here have been tricked into thinking a certain Rackham or PP mini is great but realized the painting was what made it awesome. (Not that the sculpt wasn't great - just, not as omg-cool as the painted version.)

Quantifying art defies metrics, there is no accounting for taste. It's a circular issue. That said, I love those big crocs, and that wendi-giant is superb too! Thanks for posting the pics. Things like that make me want to paint some just for painting entries!

Maybe I am just used to GW's stuff but for the most part, I prefer GW's sculpts to those listed. (IE: Best 10 GW sculpts are better than best 10 Croc sculpts.)
