I walked in to a local comics & games shop 2 weeks ago with my son and came out with a bug to paint Warhammer 40k miniatures. It's completely foreign to me. I haven't even assembled a model in nearly 30 years. Apparently there's even a game associated with all of this that you can use the miniatures for. Who'd have thought?

Anyway, I'm your basic totally green, completely uneducated (in war gaming), unadulterated n00b. The marine and ork models are cool, but I think that when it comes down to collecting an army I will go with Tau. I really like the "futuristic" mech look of them. Tau can be pretty competitive to play, but as with all armies (except spehss muhreens) they require actual ability and a bit of practise to win consistently with
