Augustus Painting 4/10, Coolness 5/10 @ 2011-08-08 22:14:38
This is neat clean work, and makes an acceptable gaming miniature. Unfortunately lack of shading, or even inking and NO base finishing is really holding it back and making it look primitive.
All the metal colors on this would look at least 2x as good with a coat of simple GW Devlan Mud (a pre made wash from GW).
There are also cleaning mistakes that are really obvious on the toes, the little worm shapoed lines are flute vents that should be trimmed before a model is painted.
A few details ought to get picked out in metal like the piping in the joints.
Also Eye color would make the helmet look better, eyes always ad a LOT to any miniature who has them!
Overall not bad, keep going, find out about the joy that is brown ink wash, it is supremely useful! |
