I was kind of limited on the dakka, actually. The Skullhamma is surprisingly lightly armed apart from the main cannon. The two shoulder cannons are actually a transported unit of Grot Big Gunz, taking advantage of the Skullhamma's huge transport capacity. I am working on a dismounted version of them in case they survive the destruction of the Battlefortress or just feel like getting off. It would have been easier if I was just planning on coming up with my own rules, but I wanted something that could use existing Datasheets. |

I find that the best approach is to start with a very sturdy and simple foundation. In this case I used big plastruct I-beams to hold everything together on top, and 1/8" plasticard to jam into the channels that normally hold the floor section. The back Land Raider is held to the front Land Raider sides via a bunch of 1/16" brass pins. The Battlewagon is just epoxied down to the top of two of the I-beams.
The great thing about Ork conversions is that you can always cover up your bulky structural ties with "cosmetic" plating to make them less obvious. It is amazing how much you can build with brass rods, two sizes of tubing, and L-channel. I have a few WIP shots of this in another gallery. Once you get started I don't think you will find it that difficult. The real trick is just to think like an Ork. |
