 Thanks for commenting.
It was my attempt at sculpting flak armor onto converted IG Ogryn using WHFB Ogre Kingdoms Army Leadbelcher and Ogre Bull Models as the base.
My green stuff skills at the time were quite basic, I was really only just learning from the beginning. The similarity to the TMNT didn't occur to me till you mentioned it though, I was using the Forgeworld 40k Renegade Ogryn and the (WHFB?) Plague Ogres as inspiration to guide the creation of custom Mutant Ogryn that would fit in with the majority (in terms of look and the tech used) of the Mutant Infantry which themselves were comprised of WHFB Zombies + 40k Catachans + 40k Orks + Mutant Sprue, which was sold as a 'Mutants' bag during the Eye of Terror Campaign if I remember correctly. |

Oops I wrote a very long comment. For the Mutant IG, pics of which are in the same gallery, I used in addition the Mutant bag, WHFB(6th ed) Chaos Maruader plastic boxes plus some older WHFB(4th/5th) Chaos Warriors plastics components, plus a few Metal weapons sprues from Necromunda (shotguns, las pitols) and later on a few plastic heavy weapons from the Catachan or Cadian set, to create mortar teams, missile launchers and autocannon/lascannon platforms. I used most of these Necromunda Metal weapons sprue guns to kit out two Veteran IG Catachan Squads, one mainly with shoguns and the other with CCW + laspitol/autopistol, pics of those are in my Gw W40k Imperial Guard Catachan Infantry Army Wip Gallery (https://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-96680-65120_Gw%20W40k%20Imperial%20Guard%20Catachan%20Infantry%20Army%20Wip.html). |

I just remembered something else about the composition of the Mutant IG infantry. I also used plastic W40k Ork Lootas plus quite a few W40k IG Tank accessory sprue heavy stubbers, all of which built out numerous low tech large caliber heavy weapons held by bulkier-build models. Finally a small number of Tamiya modern infantry heavy weapon sprues plus Tamiya sandbags were used to kit out a slight body build squad with autogun style long weapons and to create sandbag walls for mortars/missile launcher teams to take cover behind. I had plans at the time to add Tamiya brick wall sections onto 60mm heavy weapons teams' bases for them to take cover, expanding further the variety across the models. Nowadays you can use Mantic's plastic brick sections or Green Stuff World individual resin bricks to achieve a similar effect. |
