Thanks! Technically they're Sternguard... but if I recall correctly, the mantis warrior tranquility snipers were the first official "sniper" in the game (they were depicted as full marines), though GW never did anything official with the chapter beyond it's introduction in the original rule book. This is just my attempt to interpret them into the 5th edition rule set. |

Thanks! Not as complicated as it looks. I used modern kneeling legs, think they're for the devistators or command squad (got them off -bay so I can't remember), then used a regular Mk-6 beakie body, head, arms backpack and shoulder pads. Took a bit of repositioning to get the arms to lay right for the pose, but that old plastic is soft and pretty easy to work with. Then took a modern bolter and added the barrel and scope from an SM sniper rifle to give it that extra "snipey" look. I should have removed the bolter muzzle from the gun before extending the barrel, but I forgot on this one. The small blades (left arm and legs) are just bits from a chain sword, and the large blades (right forearm and gun) are taken off the standard dark eldar gun). Strap on the bolter either came with this gun or is green stuff... I think this one actually came with the original bolter. I suppose it sounds complicated but once you get a handle on the basic look & bits to be used, they go together quite easily. |
