Image Description: How did I arrive at this project to create a Chaos Sorcerer on a Disc of Tzeentch, pretty much from scratch? Well, somehow I had gotten hold of an old metal miniature from the Mordheim range: Aenur the Sword of Twilight. I was never much into elves, and so naturally had chopped off his head and sword, replacing them with a skull head and staff, and no further concrete plan back then of what to do next. The mini had been sitting in my bits box for over 15 years. When I dug it out, his dynamic pose, the flow of his cloak and the ridiculous pony tail I had given the skull, gave me the impression that there is a strong wind, or the figure is moving at a high speed. Seeing as he already looked like a sorcerer, carrying that staff, and feeling like something more ambitious, I got the idea of a sorcerer on a disc of Tzeentch. I had no disc, and no acrylic flying stand. I used a circular GW base for the shape of the disc, some bits from the Warcry terrain set for the eight-point spikes on the disc, and entirely sculpted the fire from milliput. Tzeentch sorcerers are quite fiery and so I though it would be cool if the disc is enveloped in fire. I found the closest thing I could to a flying stand, and did some cutting to the acrylic rod, to bring it to the height I wanted. |
