Image Description: In decades my chaos fleet grew in number of ships, but especially the flagship was in a constant process of redesign. It started with the desire for a more powerful ship (the Desolator is cool, but under-armed) on the one hand, and a true flagship that is more than just a cannon (see Planet Killer) on the other. The result was the Argo Malfegor, which combined firepower and a command centre and was about twice the length of a normal battleship. The power source was a captured Ruler of Change. The fleet was extremely blue at the time, except for the red Warbreed, a battleship of Khorne. But the ship turned out to be too small - in terms of its planet-destroying armament - according to the thought that my demon and torture master (retrospective assessment) put into my head. The ships Argo Malfegor and Warbreed merged together to create the Dungeon of Eternity, which was three times the length of a battleship and also looked very long and sleek. In terms of armament, this ship was already on the edge of BFG playability. But the demon gave me no peace. Perhaps this is also the curse of the Chaos Warlord, who can never have enough power. Ages ago, a GW man had also built an even bigger ship, the Horror Incognita, a huge green Nurgle battleship. And so the Dungeon of Eternity were also dismantled in favour of an even more comprehensive project. The ship was not only to be longer but also significantly wider. However, this shipbuilding project did not come to an end for almost a decade, as the stern and bridge in particular lacked a concept and I stared apathetically at the model, which had already cost so much effort, time and energy. The demon was taking its toll! After so many years, a new inspiration came and creative energy flowed once again. Working day and night for over a week, I was finally able to conquer the demon. The Medrengard, the iron flagship of the Perturabo, was finally finished, a colossus of 5kg far beyond the BFG rules. The demon is banned. Iron within, Iron without! |
