Where's the thin mud? This tank looks too clean otherwise to have gotten that kind of mud on it. If there's think clumps, you're almost certainly going to have more dirt, especially on the lower areas. Heavy mud usually only cakes up around the tracks. And why are the sponson fronts (and bolters) so clean? If the tank was plowing into mud deep enough to get it on the center front, surely the sponsons would have gotten a bit more dirty? Short of it is that it looks flung on rather than the result of the BB driving through mud. This is a technique that requires studying photos of vehicles stuck in, or driving through mud before using IMO. |

^i agree. I think simply applying some mixtures of brown in about an inch or so length around all spots with mud will add to the affect. it just looks off in its current form because the dirty parts are REALLY muddy and everything else is clean.... muck it up a bit with a slightly lighter coat of brown to simulate a ligher dried layer as opposed to the thick still gooey layer stauck allover. Very nice mud effects tho, you have inspired me to try my hand at this!
