I wanted a dark, sinister, "grim reaper" look on the Sorcerer Lord to contrast with the lighter colors of the Manticore. I painted the cloak "comic book black" using deep shades of blue to highlight it the way that blue is used to provide varying degrees of lightness on black areas in comic books and other similar illustrations. The engraved runes on the armor were painted to appear as if they are glowing with enchantments and the runes on the weapon were painted to match. The lava base is custom created to appear as if the lines of molten rock radiate outward from the feet of the Manticore. |
