another WIP pic of the dam. PCs arrive at the top, can ladder to this platform, and use a pully-chain-bucket through the left gap to reach the bottom. dark place on right is spill valve for dam, which will pour into a trough to direct water away from the front of the dam (to reduce rotting from constant moisture, and to move a waterwheel).
The top boards are a little ramshackle because I realized that the planks are sloping downward to theft, so I put in a couple of splints on the left side to compensate. There'll be a slight overhang on the top level, so these little flaws won't be quite so obvious. Also, I'm probably going to give it all a brown wash to darken it up a bit (like I did for the plank bridge terrain piece), and that'll conceal the flaws. |
