The leader of my witch-hunters in Malifaux, Sonnia Criid. I painted her undersuit in a matt black with dark grey detailing, as I wanted a look reminiscent of Spec-Ops bodysuits. I kept the coat brown to keep her in line with the rest of the warband, and I can image it being drawn around her to disguise the armour she wears underneath. Plus, as a Firefly fan, it was too hard to resist ;) The hair was painted in a firery red with light orange highlights - partially to keep the second colour theme of red running throughout the whole gang, and partially because it seemed to suit her as a pyrokinetic. Finally the pendant around her neck was done in gold - the only thing in the whole gang to be painted in gold (even the sword handle's only bronze), as I wanted it to be eye-catching and to emphasise her status as the leader of the gang. |
