If you look close enough you'll see my leader has no hand lol. I'm unable to find it and as to yet am unable to obtain a plasma pistol :(
I have put this picture up for constuctive critisism on my painting as i have been painting since june 2010 and feel like i should be further along than i am. |

I like the colour scheme. What do you mean with being further along? This is great standard. Many veterans would envy this! Maybe you could touch up the numbers on the shoulder pads, otherwise it looks like good gaming-standard paint job :)
Hey, why don't you put a hook on the leader!? :D |

Thank-you for taking the time to comment, i appreciate it :) and thank-you for your kind words. I will defantly get on to making them numbers more sharp :)
Haha, never thought of that. that'd be hard core in hand to hand combat XD |

You've got a really great finish on the white and i absolutely love the damage and blood on the shield. Would love to know how you did that!
Also i wish my chevrons looked half that good! 10/10 |

Seriously, the painting is fine; most painters would not be able to achieve the crisp white finish that you have. If you want these to look better, maybe highlighting the black armour with some dark greys, building up, but getting finer with each new highlight. Love the Robo-Dog :) |

@Lake: Thanks, The sheild is my fave one :)
The damage is quick and simple, Just apply black in odd shapes where you want the damage then go over that with Leadbelcher (Blotgun Metal), If you didnt want the metal so shiney then just apply some agrax earthshade (Devlan Mud) over the top :)
And the blood is a simple mix of Evil Sunz Scarlet (Blood Red) with a tiny tiny amount of Rhinox Hide (Scorched Brown)
(Though i used the 'old' paints to do these i have put the names of the new paints also, just incases) :) |

 @Drakeslayer:
Thank-you :)
I did consider highlighting the black armour but wasn't sure as to where the highlights would go as the surface is smooth.
Sparky was fun to paint, in the begining he looked like a fisher price toy lol |

the highlights would normally go at the top and to the sharp edges like the top of the knees, for the top of the sheil i'd yuse mitril silve, i currently have no idea what the new name is. but other than that, excellent work on them love 'em |

I should agree on the highlight issue, personally I don't like "Sparky" (as a model) but nevertheless is a nice addition to the squad. The shield looks really cool too! Overall: Very Good! |

Howdy! A lovely squad of Arbites, I will shamelessly copy some of these ideas for my WIP squads. ;-)
As to the paintjob, it is very clean and neat, perhaps a bit more grit in the way of black and/or brown washes will bring out some detail via shading and also add a bit of wear to these no doubt underhive-rummaging soldiers.
All the best from Australia! |
