Hello Tyyr - maybe these are folding fins, that extend as soon as the missile leaves the tube? And many modern missiles also don't fly a straight "LOS" path, but ascent and then strike the target from above...just as food for thought.

Yeah if you watch footage of a stinger missile or some such being fired from a vehicle its almost vertical for a few seconds before it straightens out and brings explosive death to some poor bugger. |
