 This is fantastic! The colors and the pose just look so intimidating! The headband is a really nice touch. What did you use for that device he has on his back? Also, why is his one shoulder silver? |

 The device on the back is an old Mutie binocular from Gorkamorka. The "silver" is actually white, one of the two colours this Kroot tribe uses as warpaint. Red paint is awarded for a killing blow, white for receiving a grievous injury. Notice the Shaper's left hand - it's deep red, and it's not blood. Thanks for your kind words, by the way. |

 Ah, I see. I love models that have some kind of history to them. That's what I'm trying to do with all of my Tau. Do you have a project log or something that we can follow? I'd be interested in learning more about your cadre's history. |

 Very good use of contrasting/complimentary color scheme with the greens and red/orange pigments. |

 This is an amazing model, will be using it as inspiration for my own shaper! I'm curious what you used for his knife though! |

 How did you pose the right leg? Did you just bend it or is it a cut and repose job? Also the hand holding the pulse rifle looks so good, my ones look freaking awful. HOW DID YOU DO IT?? |

 @Lake
If I remember correctly, I made a small incision in the leg and bent it. Then I filled in and fixed the leg with Green Stuff / Brown Stuff. Then some filing, polishing and voila!
I've been doing my own conversion for a while now, and there are two things to remember.
1. Always plan your conversion carefully. Picture it in your head, do some sketches if necessary.
2. Be careful and take your time as you cut, file and carve your parts. Easy does it. Sounds lame, but it really is the best advice I can give you.
It doesn't hurt to have plenty of back-up parts either. =) Good luck! |
