When I painted this Arkurian Pattern Stormblade kit from Forge World in summer 2008 I decided to break from my normal Imperial Guard paint scheme for the sake of variety. As a bit of story background, I reasoned that when Imperial forces needed support beyond what was in their own armories they might turn to the Adeptus Mechanicus for what passes for high-tech support in 40K as the Mechanicus is famous for supporting large complex machines. This was the second Arkurian Pattern tank I painted in this fashion, the first was a Shadowsword. |

I love this, it looks so clean and in a way, almost more effecient, like they are saying "yes, we make them this well, just not for the likes of you, now remove your hands from the omnisiah's blessing". |
