Millennia ago, the creature who would be known as Paguridous crawled forth from the innards of one of Nurgle's daemons on the battleground of a long since forgotten world. Unlike any of the other swarms of Nurglings that had gestated within, this one had somehow become merged with a nascent crawling parasitic worm that had nested in the bowels of the Greater Daemon. The newborn parasite daemon slowly inched its way across the ground until it came to a discarded warhelm of an alien soldier fallen to the daemon swarm. Like a snail in a shell, the Nurgling hybrid attached itself to the helm, making it a second skin. And so, thru the long years, Paguridous has thrived and grown, discarding and acquiring host shells as its bulk expanded and bloated. It was on the isolated world of Tannhauser Prime that it abandoned the corrupted shell of a Necron Tomb Spyder to slither into the burning ruins of a Hellbrute. Mindless and ancient, Paguridous rose up and strode into greater daemonhood, one of the chosen of the Lord of Putrescence. |
