Image Description: When the Pit of Horrors is sighted at battles around the galaxy it is a sure sign that the level of carnage will be on an almost unimaginable scale. The pit of blood on the top of the tower churns and roils with the blood of untold victims, tossing their skulls up and down in a never ending display of gruesome horrors. The amount of skulls visible on the surface at any given time is a mere fraction of the seemingly infinite number believed to be submerged within. Woe be to any present at a battle where this daemon engine is sighted! This Tower of Skulls conversion was built on a GW Baneblade chassis and comprises parts of myriad other GW kits as well as Kneadatite (Green Stuff), plastic card, and Woodland Scenics Water Effects. The tower is removable for ease of transport and storage and the guns all articulate in some fashion for the sake of adding a fun "toy factor" to the model. The main gun traverses and elevates as do the sponson guns, the guns on top of the sponsons pivot and the guns at the top of the tower traverse and the barrels rotate. This model was featured on the Games Workshop website's What's New Today daily post on November 12, 2010 at this link: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/blogPost.jsp?aId=14000014a |

Thank you both for the kind comments and voting. When I have this model out in a store people go crazy over it which is both fun and flattering. I'm not sure why a few people rated it so low, bringing the average scores down, but perhaps the pictures don't do it justice. In any case, thanks again to those of you who really enjoyed seeing it. I have a detailed step-by-step builder guide available for this as an electronic file and if you write to GW US at the customer service email address they will send you a copy. I try not to vote on my own models, but in this case I did it just to balance out some of the really low scores someone gave it. |

That seems so... 1993. They're not putting it on their site? Would you put it online yourself? |

I have been hoping to start my own blog at some point and to have some conversion guides and similar hobby related items available for download on it, but in the meantime the easiest solution has been to let GW distribute the material. The way this evolved was that my Brass Scorpion builder's guide was on the US GW website for the first 6 months of 2008, then disappeared when the UK HQ took over all GW websites. When it disappeared John Spencer at US Customer Service told me he started getting calls asking for help with Brass Scorpions and he asked if I had anything that they could provide to customers, so I supplied him with my draft copy of the Brass Scorpion guide and later provided him with the Tower of Skulls guide when that was completed. Weeks back I sent a copy of the Tower of Skulls guide to "What's New Today" at the GW website, but received no response. It's a 15-page step-by-step guide showing every cut I made in exacting detail and even offers alternate build suggestions at certain spots. |

The Khorne badges, both of them, are made by Forge World. And thanks for the compliments! |

I built it so that the tower section is removable. The whole thing fits in a Plano 1404 Accessory case like you can get for about $10 at WalMart. |
