Image Description: This is the Deathwing Squad from Dark Vengeance, painted in a style that I then used for the rest of my regular Deathwing (which I'll eventually take pictures of). It basically involves dabbing a thin layer of ceramite white on a sponge then onto the model before applying a dark brown wash, more ceramite white then a lighter brown wash, more white, lightest wash then a final layer of white. It's simple but time consuming, but gives an awesome textured look with deep dark recesses, light highlights and minimal effort. Of course painting the rest is then hair raising as it has to be done afterwards with infinite care to avoid messing up the white, but I think it all works well with the dark grey robes, storm bolsters, crux terminatus etc. and "gold" braid.
