These guys aren't a 30K unit, but I built and paint them for using the army in 40K - Wulfen are just too good and too flavourful for the Space Wolves chapter not to use (without being so batshit ludicrous as Santa Grimnar or Thunderwolf Cavalry). I hated their pig-nosed heads though, so I decided to kill two birds with one stone and gave them Wolf Skull helmets a lá Deathsworn in 30K. Weapon selection beyond "I want 5 Thunder Hammer/Storm Shield guys" was decided on by which weapon provided the least derpy pose.
Fluff-wise, these were originally Legion Deathsworn who went over the edge and succumbed to the Curse of the Wulfen. 10,000 years, a Primarch going missing and the death of the Emperor of Mankind will do that to a guy. |
