A cheap levy to be raised in the hours before battle, their armour and weapons unearthed alongside them. It mattered not to the Count that these rusted weapons would splinter on enemy armour, or the weak magic bonding their bones was easy to break. Just that they distracted the attention of the foe, so that his elite cavalry or household guard could attack from the flanks. |
