The only thing I don't like is that the one Mek has to provide KFF coverage for 4 Mobz, but you generally want to focus all those numbers on a flank anyway, spreading out just makes the enemies job much easier, so getting the KFF strung out over a large area like that shouldn't be too hard.

I'd also like to see the Storm Boyz go bigger, and I could probably drop the Boss on bike, but then I wouldn't get to use my awesome conversion which can be an eye grabber to net me extra painting scores at tournies. It's also Land Raider/Monolith Insurance.

I somewhat like the list enough to run it, and I will shortly have most of the models I need to get it done, especially after XMas and I buy a few more boxes of Boyz...<!--emo&<img src='http://www.dakkadakka.com/DesktopModules/NTForums/images/emoticons/biggrin.gif'>-->

Here is my list, I built it for fun not so much tournament domination, but saying that I just played it vs a decent nid army and gave em a sound beating with it.

Big mek: KFF

The trukks ran up with the deafkoptas, which I feel are very underrated, and zaagstuck's group made up my moving assaulty/shooty units.  The meks sat out in the open behind the lootas, because the best field of fire was out of terrain.  KFF means I had that option.  The other advanced with the shoota boyz, and with almost his whole armies shooting 2 turns he was unable to drop them below 20.  My list has less basic orks then yours, and still took an unreasonable amount of time to move heh.  Seriously though mabye drop one squad of stormboyz for deafkoptas, If you look hard at that squad for a few minutes, I think you will see the potential that proved itself for me tonight.  Twin liked 3 shot 5 str 36" guns are impressive alright, but now remember you could upgrade ALL of those to kustom mega blastas, for 5 str 8 ap 2 assault 1 24" range shots.

What a wonderful Monolith insurance it is indeed (15% chance to destroy one on the charge).

Charge him with another PK Nob squad into one and it should fall.    The other squad is there mostly to make sure the Boss isn't the closest target after the charge.

If you've got any other suggestions for other even remotely reliable ways to take one down with the list, I'm all ears.

How do you figure that? It's not inconceivable, but the odds aren't exactly on your side.

Don't get me wrong. I'm aware that Orks don't have much in their arsenal that can take down a 'lith, and what you propose is worth a shot. I just think you are grossly exaggerating the reliability of this "insurance."

Probably am, I just really want an excuse to paint that model up real nice and take it to tourneys.  I just love that thing.

That said, my Biker Boss has a reputation against 'Liths already.  Plus with all Nobz being S9 on the charge and the amount of dice you can roll in one shot to attack it, I feel at least it's the best shot I've got with the Ork list.  Which is probably better than it was before to take down the 'Lith.

The squig on your boss limits his move to 6" so what's the point of the bike?
You can't have biked squigs, and squigs lover move speed to their speed. Drop em.
Tack the Boss with the Nobs, and lose his bike.

Why lootas?
I haven't read the new codex besides the summary page and heard leaks, but lootas got ALOT worse.
Take ard boys for your money. 4+ save can't go wrong.
Or if your troop slots are too full to take 'ard boys, take a bunch of kans.
They are cheaper, their BS is 3 now, since they raised Gretchin Bs to 3 and kans are piloted by the buggers!
They still block line of sight, and they all cost less and you can have from 1-5 per heavy now, too.
With this, I think your KFF Mek will be more productive, shielding the kans, the Kans shielding the boys, and the boys blasting away.

Diru, why bother commenting on a list drawn up according to a codex you haven't read? Squigs don't work the way they used to, and Lootas getting worse couldn't be further from the truth.

What next? Are you going to post on a Chaos thread demanding to know why the player isn't fielding a speed prince or las/plas squads?

Assuming 7S10 attacks that would be ~21%.  For comparison a 4 lascannon dev squad is ~26% per volley.

I really like kommandos with Snitrot. Having 15 orks coming out the rear or flank of your opponent is a really good against a variety of armies. Maybe drop on of the 20 boyz mobs to try and fit that in?

Ouch, not the best advice, not sure what codex you read, but it sure wasent the new ork codex.  Squigs can be attached to the warboss on a bike, for the cost of a 30 man ard boy squad, you could save the points and buy 20 more boyz, which is far superior to a 4+ save almost any good horde killing weapon will negate.  Kans are the same price, but good weapon upgrades cost alot more now, and they are still limited to 1-3, for the shootieness deffkoptas have them beat 3 times over, with cheaper upgrades and better movement too.  And playing with 20 man + squad sizes, you would be suprised how often your own kans in the front can hinder your own LoS.

Oh and I wouldnt call lootas with str 7 48" range D3 shots guns worse than before.  In a 15 man squad thats up to 45 str 7 shots.  One squad has the potential to kill anything in the game < AV 14 in one turn.

I don't think you can have shoota boyz with a PK Nob. I believe it says the whole mob may replace their slugga and choppa with a shoota... And a nob replaces his choppa for a PK. But he doesn't have a choppa to replace if the whole mob replaced their choppas for shootas.

Hopefully this is an oversight that GW will correct before printing, but otherwise it can't be done.
