Titans are awesome. T-hawk's fab. The armies are beautifully done. But the thing I liked the most was the close up of the Imperial Fist holding the demon's head. His gauntlet looks amazing.

the titans took about a week for all three as they where a rush job for a company the thunderhawk was done in a day as it was needed for a store opening the next day!! airbrush just eats up the big models!!

Well, the Tzeench and the Spawn are brilliant! and the Lementers and Fists are damn awesome too, actually they were the sole reason I bought this months WD! I flicked through waiting for my partner to finish work, saw them, and had to buy the mag so i could go back and check them out properly at my leisure! and i wasn't dissapointed either, they are very nicely done and shall be gazed at regularly i'm sure!

The hue of the skin is great! really dark and freshly skun looking! the blend from the metal parts to the organics looks great too! are you going to do anything to the metals to dirty them up some? they're pretty darn clean right now for a patron of the blood god :-)

Where did you get those heads on those single marines you posted? They look awesome.

the metals a bit darker IRL its a really reflective metalic so the camera lights make it shine :-)

the heads were green stuffed (guessing you mean the lamenters?)

Did you make the angel wings on the helmet by green stuff? (I presume these are the minatures in question) They look amazing.

Hello! I'm astounded by your paint jobs, especially.. Well.. Everything! I quite enjoy how your daemons are grittier than those I normally see, and I must comment on how awesome(and dark!) your Herald of Khorne looks!

Do you have a website or something? You really should set one up to compile your works!

Wow, Dave. That is some astounding work. Honestly, I think that's some of the best painting I've seen on Dakka, and that's considering there's the likes of GMM on here too, sterling work. The Daemons (perfect shades IMHO) and Imperial Fists in particular, are truly great.

My only suggestion would be a bit more colour on that 2nd, Slaaneshi(?) Soulgrinder: like some purple on the fleshy part of the legs, to help separate the mechanical and immaterial parts.

with the grinder I was trying to meld the metal with bio so I went for a really pale metal guess that means it worked :-P

All of this is amazing!

For some reason there seems to be not enough "pop" on the Terminators. The painting is amazing, but it doesn't seem tos tand out enough... Perhaps a brighter accent colour? Or was the scheme intentionally like this?

think its just dark pic's will re take them later.....

That Mamon? is the only time I've ever seen it and actually liked it! seriously you have turned one of my least favorite models and made it something I want to look at! thank you!

Cannot commend this highly enough, Fantastic work at an unbelievable pace! My experience with my airbrush has so far been un-fruitful... Need some bigger models! . Keep it up!

Great painting skills, squad number and amount of road-kills?

Those 'counts as' ogryns are one of the coolest, most original squads ive seen in a while. From the models to the paint work, there is a high level of modeling demonstrated here. I really dont know what I can say about them, except that im extremely envious of that squad....awesome job!

--where did you get the parts for those suits?

I'm assuming they are scratch builds (which is annoying you can do both so well) but a tutorial on them would be great!

@ Element - The suits used for the "counts as" ogryns are A.P.E. suits from the Secrets of the Third Reich game. They have a related board game called Incursion (think Weird WWII spacehulk). The base Incursion game is the APES of the Lucky 7th against the Nazi's Von X family and their hordes of zombies. I recommend it!

Dude, your work is awesome!!!! I love it!, My favorite piece is the demolisher with the tank commander on top, it just looks real!! awesome stuff!

the vindicators one of the old FW kits along with the extra armour on the land raider..... the detail was pretty crappy on this plus the previous owner had gone to town with the weathering on this army so expect battle damage :-)

Looks great as ever. Big fan of the weathering and battle damage, and in particular the contrast with the Vindicator's shield.

I love the shield of your Termi. Did you scratch built them or they come from somewhere?

from what I can tell there FW rhino doors.......

Most anyone would be limited in the following:

- Wife would slap us on the side of the head for the expense.
- Kids would break at least one of every 20 models if not under lock and key. Impossible with that much painting.
- Food, housing and car would take a big hit.

Comment on painting: would love to see it done in "real time" I could do it but one normal model would take a week of all my spare time... really amazing skill and speed.

just for you i'll take a pic every 10 min on the next mini I paint..... watch this space :-)

Great to see, as I suspected: getting good with a spray gun creates a good finished result and quick. I dislike "block painting" so that would go a long way in making it even more fun.

I see the "AV Air" paints around, that would be the way to go rather than diluting paints <sigh> more paints to buy.

Good to meet a fellow black primer painter. I find it easier starting from dark to light than the other way around.

I just cannot hold off commenting: the poor keyboard! They are cheap I know but yikes!

You got some fume hood anywhere near there? I would like to spray in the comfort of my hobby desk than the garage but could stink out the rest of the house.

Thanks for the time-lapse photo-shoot, it gave a really good idea of the process and that plain old brush painting seems too much like work (not that good skills in that are not still needed).

I thought I read earlier you don't play the games, so why all the passion of painting the stuff? Are you really into the books or you just like seeing the fanboys go crazy when they see the finished product?

I really like the daemon stuff, particularly the Slaanesh ones. The Imperial fists with the more brown shade tone look better imho.

Huge fan of your stuff, been following your work for ages, since you posted the Sons of Orar commission - only thing I would say is that that your metals seem a little unfinished at times, especially the bolters on the Fists and the gold on the tanks. Your colours are superb though, as is your weathering.

These paint schemes have much more depth and detail, not to mention that they look like they've been painted with love!

If i had to provide any criticism it would be the blue squads. I don't feel they match the bases and vibe of the rest of the army as well as i mentioned before.

dire avengers have to be blue :-( tried to keep the colours simple on them hence no yellow in the helmet plumes....

If I had the money I'd do it in a heart beat. Believe me, If I want any commission work done, you are my first choice, because these are stunning.

Apart from the horrible model of that last dreadnought, i always dig everything you do

And don't get me wrong the paintjob is ok, its just the model that looks bad to me.

yea I really wanted to use smaller plasma guns and have them mounted under the arms

but this is how the cust envisaged it so that's how it has to be :-)

apart from the BIG guns I think the rest of the dread worked out ok????

And yes! It looks cool, just not really digging the weapons and stuff, it makes no sense (to me anyway, rockets ok, guns ok, but an automated/mechanized flail?).

Personally i just like the models (and paints are for me anyway, a bonus). I couldn't get myself to work on a model i don't really like, kudos to you

they cust has some fluff that he's written to go with it I'll try and fish it out........ hopefully that'll explain it all :-)

I like the dread. Not really the cannons, but the flail is great. Great job again Dave.

I'm with IS, the flail and pose are great. Clever use of the doer as a shield. Not sure on the sensor coming out of his hand, seems like it would make him less punchy.

Is the pred missing the battery on the turret?

I have the CAR and if it makes you feel any better they sent me two of the same piece (the external part for one side of the "arm" compartment) and it took them ages to send out the correct bit

I have to say, I love the way you paint. I like dark, but realistic miniatures, and your work on especially the larger Eldar models is impressive. Also I love FW, so everytime I see any FW models posted, I get all excited.

My only problem is a lack of Black Templar and you need more Grey knights. Everyone needs the inquisition...everyone. Whether they like it or not.

Hi Dave, amazing minis for sure! I am thinking about getting into airbrushing with the holidays coming up and wondered if you wouldn't mind sharing what you use? i.e. paints, brush, pump, etc. so that I might get a good idea of what the pros use.

I use a harder and steenbeck evolution bush a compressor with a tank (generic) and Vallejo model air you cant go wrong ;-)

What metal colours do you use? Im very curious, since they have a intriguing tone.

looks like you forgot to paint the eyes on those marines.

Actually it looks like the marines have a gloss coat on the eyes. For some shiny black lenses.

no there green lenses prob with mk3 armour is that the eyes are set right back so its hard to get a good shot of them ;-)
