Well, it's nice that we've finally got some of the Knights close to being unlocked. I'm sure they'll fall pretty quickly now we're in the final 72 hours.
Odd that in the three updates we had yesterday there was nothing in the last couple about the addons that they were talking about earlier in the day.
I'd love to buy into this and grab some stuff to help fill out my Dark Elf and Dark Eldar armies, but I don't really want to go by concept art alone. Lots of cool stuff, but I think I'll wait until I can just order them from thewarstore.

It is fascinating to watch pledges open up and vanish. I've seen 7-8 early bird pledges open up last night to be sucked with 10-15 minutes. Looks there's people vulturing this KS still

Good news everyone, we've passed $640k and the Knights command box is unlocked. We're also almost at the 48 hours remaining mark and the reminder emails. So this is where things could start moving a little bit faster.
Then there's also the addons that were mentioned, which I'm sure will bring more funds in as people decide that they want some hand poured resin.
Don't expect to see anything that exciting for the next couple days with freebies. Will probably just be the mascots for the other factions. Hopefully the last freebie is something nice like captured Kurganova sisters. Regardless this one is easily going to exceed their first KS. Just wish they would post the next unlock map since things should pick up some.
Well they never got back to me, but it appears we have an answer on the Daughters of the Crucible stretch, both bonus unlocks applied to the command box which is now 5x girls w/ leader.

I just want one command squad each any way probably. I don't really paint armies any more. Just little projects I think look fun. I've got a complete SW force, but it's only 40 odd minis. My complete TGG aren't that many either. I'm only expecting to walk away with 12-13 minis out of TGG2

Either the war pulpit or the throne of sentencing - can't decide which one I want (can't really afford both). Pulpit is unlocked at 730k, but no mention of the throne being unlocked yet, so it may make the decision for me!
It's a bit weird that we have about two days remaining in the entire campaign, and some of the models that have been listed since day one have not been "unlocked". The SciFi Archpapess has been at the top of the first listed models overall since the beginning and it's not even on the "stretch" goals.
I guess I'll just sit on my Lt Pledge and see what is exactly available for offer once this whole thing is over. I'd imagine a lot of other people are doing the same.

The heroine unlocks seem to be completely at random and I have been wondering the exact same thing. Apart from some of the freebies, i'm only really looking forward to the huntress, a sister scout squad, vestal cavalry as seekers and some angels as bretonnian pegasus knights.

Hrm.... I hate to say it, but I might actually back this. I think I only want 175$ of the stuff they offer, and getting the freebies is probably worth while in that case.

I want the same as Alpharius, I pledged 46$ while selecting the 15$ tier. Did I do it right?
So they're encouraging people to dump money on the unlocked items and then bail at the last minute if those items don't get unlocked. What happens if the item get "unlocked", but then due to everyone bailing on other miniatures, the total amount drops below the unlock amount?

That will work, or you can pledge $15 now, and add more funds during the pledge manager. All kind of academic at this point really.
So, not really the update that the campaign needs right now, if they want to keep driving things forwards in the last 28 or so hours. Kicktraq shows a gain of $12k so far today, which doesn't bode well for the explosion that people have been predicting since day 2.
All the freebies are nice...I guess... but the problem is that, if you're only interested in one of the armies, the other stuff does absolutely jack for you.
Unless there's someone else out there with no interested in the Elves of either variety that would like to go halvesies with me...
This was my stumbling block... and part of the reason I'm not pledging, without the freebies, the deal isn't as great as far as I'm concerned and I might as well wait till retail.
The freebies are certainly an interesting decision as giving people a choice (even if of lesser value) would probably have pulled in more pledges
.....although on the other hand the moment they allowed choice there would have been massive pressure to let people pick troop boxes not just heroines (which are higher margin products)
my guess is the feel that if people actually get minis from the armies they are not interested in (now) in their hands they (or whoever they pass them on to) may well become future customers...
less investment now in terms of (hopefully) more in the future, it's certainly a brave choice

I think it's worth pointing out, if they have learned nothing else from their first campaign, this "Paypal unlocks" is quite shrewd. In the first campaign it became clear towards the end that they had "unlocked" everything (that is, they had the money to produce their stuff), but were spacing out the stretch goals to maintain interest. This was basically confirmed when they simply started unlocking things as time ticked down. Honestly, both campaigns are weirdly run and feel more like it's a show that's being put on than an actual structured campaign being run. Things are put out in a weird random order, with no real sense of cohesion. HQ's before troops? Wry?

Just checking and apologies if it's been said load of times before but if I go in for a low pledg now could I increase to the lt pledge in the pledge manager and still get the benefits?

Well there goes that plan then. Fine ill just buy the freebies I wanted.
Again, I'm really quite annoyed that very few (none?) of the individual heroes will have customizable bits since they put so many bloody scifi/fantasy duplicate unlocks in this campaign that basically doubled the number of required unlocks to meet the basics. In the last campaign if I'm not mistaken the gravy, ie. added bits, was unlocked after around 500k. For TGG2 nothing but troops is getting added bits. I doubt we'll hit the gravy train since there's still a few concepts that havent been unlocked. And again, RH has a tendency to mess around a lot with the figures between concept and final product. The bits have always been the saving grace for me. Wondering whether I should lower my pledge level.
I'm just happy this finally came. I wanted plastic sisters for a while now and this will make my army. I don't know if GW will release sisters between now and may 2016 but at least I secured something.

Prepare to wait twice as long as you expect. And for the concepts to change over time without you having a chance to do anything about it.
Anyway, it seems that there is no minimum pledge level to get that free 10$ mini if you backed the first KS anymore? Would be pretty nice to snag that Huntress that will, inevitably, be unlocked in mysterious ways.

I also appreciate that the KotC are only regular troopers, but their command structure seems to be more about climbing rocks and dancing and doing actual commanding.
With my luck, those will be some of the last sculpts available. I wonder if it would make sense for them to put a "feeler" survey out to gauge more precise interest in armies to see where they ought to go first. Instead of just SCULPT ALL THE THINGS!!!

Just to add a second opinion I got all my heroines in spincast resin (still waiting on wave 3 but I got all the wave 1 ones and freebies) and they're pretty much flawless outside of the odd slightly bent weapon.
Third opinion if you want, got more than one hundred models in spincast resin, no trouble with the so called bubbles.
So well, it can be just bad luck.
About this Kickstarter, I don't know. Who knows what GW will do with 40k/sisters one year later? Or even two?
And I'm not really taking seriously the Raging Heroes game project. I mean, it's so obvious they make these models as "count as" for GW games - especially the SF series.
What the hell is happening with their projected "freebie value"? They went from "$200" to "$250" and now with an actual figure instead of another mascot they're calling it "$282.50"??? Is that last figure supposedly worth $40 or something?
Since you've been such good backers and since we are a pretty cool company, and since we didn't have the final concept for the last mascot, we decided to turn one of the Stretch Gaol Heroine into a Freebie!
This brings the total retail value of the Freebie pack to a pretty amazing $282.50. How cool is that?

I'm just hoping that they'll be really nice looking miniatures that will be fun to paint...
Either Grey Knight, or judging from the shields and hammers, vanilla terminators with said equipment, those are still a good option for regular space marine armies I think.

I think Lysander of the Imperial Fists allows for this, but I'm not a 100% certain.

Also have absolutely no clue what I'll actually be getting with my pledge. Too many interesting choices. I should probably wait until we see more renders, shouldn't I?

Honestly..I don't think this campaign was badly run...some odd decisions of course ...but All kisckstarters make those. I think 700k is about what RH can make unless they drop their prices to something ridiculous. and as a boutique miniature maker.....that's just not gonna happen.
There were less WTF moments. The goals (fake though they might be i have learned that lots of Ks's uses fake goals) were realistic and dint randomly change halfway through. There wan no "80% done" meme or easy thing to make fun of. The paypal bit was clever and good solid marketing .

Ugh I broke down and pledge. I just want Sister Celenja, Daughters of the Crucible and Daughters of the Chalice. I can resist the rest but for those groups my will is weak. Not even sure what I am going to use them for (besides Sister Celenja) but I hope they find purpose.

Not sure when this happened, but the freebies now have prices marked on them in case you want more than one or if you're not getting them on your level.

Absolutely, I wouldn't worry about working out exactly how much you want at the moment.
If you're pledging for more than 175$, you might as well get them and swap them for other stuff. Someone's bound to like them. Plus it adds a gazillion dollars worth to your pledge!11!one!!
I think I am actually going to pass on this KS. It occurred to me that by the time anything actually ships I will likely have an increase in income such that I will be able to buy at retail at a lower percentage of my annual income, plus I can look at actual models instead of concept art. Not to mention having an order of magnitude more free time to actually build and paint and play with fancy man dollies.
It's definitely slower. Last campaign I switched pledges 3-4 times in the last hours grabbing better EBs each time, as they were freed up by people going even higher.
I'm looking at the cheaper EB Lt. pledges to maybe hop in on the freebie train, but nothing is budging there at all.
Yeah, it's not the surge that everyone was expecting. We've only just passed the total extra pledged yesterday and there's still 31ish things to unlock. I seriously doubt we're going to see the other $150k that is needed to unlock everything before the timer hits 0 on KS. I also doubt that we'll see that many from paypal pledges, as a little wopletinger told me that they'd already unlocked $50k worth in advance of paypal actually hitting that level.
As it stands, I feel the campaign itself has been a bit of a disappointment. There wasn't anywhere near as many delicious interactions with RH as last time, and certainly a lack of them just unlocking things because they wanted to. Though, from the renders we've seen, it does look like 100% of the sculpts are 80% done

I don't think anyone here was expecting it to break $1.5 million. The 1.5 talk was based off what was needed to unlock all the stretch goals
at 10k a pop. I think on RH themselves might have believed it. Still they did better than their first one and with the dollar to euro exchange rate being more in their favor, they did a lot better.
I'm not unhappy with everything I have seen. Was really hopeful from the first sister freebie, love that scout model. The mascot freebies kind of hurt, and not seeing anything else I really needed from the freebies has made up my mind to drop my captain pledge down to $15. Buy some nicely discounted GW terrain from the local game club while I am away in new york for training and put my weekly allowance towards raising my pledge later on to get the few bits that I want.
Sister Scouts, only need five, hopefully they have unlocked to 5 in a box.

Seeing as there's 177 people sitting at the $15 pledge level at time of writing this, I can see why this isn't funding as high as thought. Also, if Raging Heroes could figure out how to pace their stretch goals correctly (going from 10k to 5k to bonus unlocks to whatever as the campaign progressed...), they might have had enough funding to produce everything. I can't imagine it's $10k for a single 28mm model, then only $5k for a box of three cavalry models...
Seems they rode the first day pledge rush a bit too much, imo.
Maybe not through the campaign per se, but through Paypal too? Easily. And they did such for the cyberzombies. Fret not, you might have to wait a bit (longer) but you'll get it through the PM eventually.
I suspect they haven't yet 'paid' for the 5 minis they unlocked in anticipation of the paypal option collecting loads of cash so best not to anticipate anything else.....
but then again they are artistes, so may well get inspired to work on stuff that was not unlocked, and if they do they may well open them up anyway (like they did with the cyber zombies last time round)

Echoing this, scratchy artwork probably isn't the place to decide if you'll like something or not. Once the renders, or even the actual figures come out, there'll probably be at least a couple (or a few) that you'll like.

They burnt too many stretch goals with almost-duplicates of the same model. They should have just added 2 head options and a sword/pistol option for those figures and "created" and funded them once. It'd also make sales and distribution a lot easier.

Considering how this campaign was run it's no surprise. I'm definitely not an expert, but I have a feeling this campaign could've been run way better and scored way more money that this - little bit more than the previous one, which had a lot of hype going on.
As with the first KS, this one was badly managed, especially in the last few days. A few new stretch goal freebies, unlocking basically the same fig once instead of multiple times and a few other tricks could have kicked this one up near $1 million with no problem.

Was going to double pledge to get double freebies, but there were not nearly enough that I liked to get double set.
I only liked two of the freebies. That actually affected my decision to pledge. I loved the first kickstarter freebies. I spent quite a bit of money. This kickstarter was scattered all over the place. I just did not feel pulled in to pledge.
I am still waiting for my original pledge of the first kickstarter.
We'll see if things such as the huntress even get unlocked when RH counts in their PayPal backers. The PayPal stuff goes on until the end of the month, and that's plenty of time for RH to think of various reasons for what and why things get unlocked to make it seem like an achievement rather than it all being planned all along.
I'm simply happy that the SciFi Archpapess finally got unlocked officially and it'll be easier to budget stuff in. It looks like a potentially amazing model.
Our first Kickstarter was insane, and this one has been even more amazing!!!! We were over $300,000 in less than three hours!!!!!!! We topped the previous one and we did it in just 15 days!!!! Once again, thank you for your ongoing and outstanding support!!! #BestBackersEver!
What's next?
We are going now to take some well-earned time off, as the team has been working without any day off for almost two months now... So please don't be concerned our worried if you don't immediately get replies to your emails and messages.
As you probably know, we opened a Paypal option a couple of days ago, and we will be leaving it open until at least the end of the month of April.
As mentioned on the front page, the Pledge Manager will only open when we are ready to send a first batch of miniatures to the foundry, so this will not happen right away.
Once we get back, our first task will be to add new people to the team to make the production process more efficient. We will also take some time to go visit our partner foundries. We haven't had the opportunity to do it before, and this will help us to all better understand each others' work, methods, and needs, and will have a direct positive impact on the production.
We will of course keep you posted on this. As noted in the FAQ at the bottom of the front page, we will publish about one Update every month now that the campaign is over.

Freebies came (for me) about 2 weeks ago, and the project ended Jul 7 2013, so i'm calculating just under 21 months. Wave 1 shipping was quite a few months ago, but you had to pay extra for it (so i had some of my minis quite a long time ago)

Wave 1 for me was 26/08/2014, so just over a year after the end of the project. Depending on exactly how they do it for this Kickstarter, i'd say less than a year to get your first minis (if you want to pay postage), with probably 2 years + to get the entire collection...

Please know that we really really want to produce ALL the designs that we created.
However, we also want to make sure that we do it right. We know that we can manage effectively what's been unlocked, given the funds that we received and the schedule that we released.
We will closely monitor the situation in the coming weeks. But if we can't do more unlocks for TGG2, we will certainly find another way to bring the unlocked concepts to the market.
Please understand that while we are as excited as you are with the concepts and miniatures that we've created, in the end, we have to pay the bills and so, when we do special bonus unlocks to boost the campaign, it's a very tough decision to make because it has a real impact money-wise :(
But in any case, don't worry, in the end, one way or another, ALL the minis will be made. Their new pledge manager system sounded more like a new release once a new unit/model has been done. Or more likely, as soon as a new batch of models came back from the foundries and they've been added to the pledge manager web-store.
So after missing out on the first campaign i decided to go in on this with a captain level pledge, only for my banks fraud department to flag it up. Hopefully it all goes through ok after i authorised the payment.
They look great, have a feeling some of these ladies may form part of my IG command squad. Considering there hasn't been any support for Valhalla characters and my commander is Captain Chenkov I think these ladies would suit the army down to the ground.

Were you there the first time? Some of them went straight for the marginal stuff instead of working on the previews that had been seen first. Feth, Nepharya was one of the first seen, and last produced. The Cyber-Zombies which "weren't unlocked" got their prints way before her.

So we are back in full swing after a few days of rest. And we have some great news
New Unlocks
First, you’ll probably be happy to know that we have a few additional unlocks that we are able to add. And we might even add a few more in the coming weeks.
As we mentioned in a previous Update, unlocking additional stuff is something we really have to weigh carefully. Just like you, we would like to see all the minis off TGG2 come to life, but we really have to proceed with care.
But today, as the sculpt schedule is looking good and we have a good momentum going, we feel it is safe to unlock a few more minis and make everyone happy

New Sculpts
The sculpting team is hard at work and has been producing some pretty cool stuff. These images are still work-in-progress, and they all need some more touch-ups, but we thought you would want to see them anyway. We also have other sculpts in the works, but they're still at a too early stage to show at the moment.
You’ll notice that we have been mostly focusing on the Freebies. That's because most of you will have them in their rewards list. Therefore, it makes sense to create them first because this way, when you are ready to ask for your first shipment, no matter what you have selected, you'll get a big load of minis right off the bat.
Paypal Option
We received many requests of backers who will get their pay at the end of the month and who would like to increase their pledge at that time. So we are leaving the Paypal (and credit card) option active for an additional short period of time. During that time you will also be able to up your pledge level (to move from Lieutenant to Commander, for example).
If you wish to move to a new Pledge Level, please make sure you do the following:
Use our Paypal page to top the amount you've already pledged (either with your Paypal account or with a credit card and no Paypal account).
As you are processing your payment, please use the "message to seller" option to
1 - tell us you want to move from pledge level 'x' to pledge level 'y'
AND
2 - give us your Kickstarter email address so that we can track your original kickstarter pledge and make a note on it.
You should also send us a Kickstarter message to tell us about your additional payment on Paypal, and if you want to up to another Pledge Level.

What Are We Up To?
Currently, our biggest task is to recruit more people for the team.
First, right after the end of the TGG2 campaign, we said goodbye to our friend Bruno, who had partnered with us on our communications for over a year. He left for Montreal to fulfil his true destiny as a heavy metal rockstar.
He is currently touring in Canada and will be touring in Europe in May with his band Rusted (on Facebook), an up-and-coming name of the New Wave Of Traditional Heavy Metal (nwothm) along with other Canadian bands like Striker or Skull Fist. If you have the chance to see them live, you are in for a great evening of rock’n roll. And don’t hesitate to buy him a beer after the show, Bruno is the nicest guy you can imagine. Here's the message he wrote us on the day he left:
Bruno, we all wish you the greatest possible rock’n roll life! Have fun and go rock the world!
While he'll probably pitch in from time to time, his departure means that we need to beef up our communications department. If you love the hobby, if you have the qualifications and experience, and if you are interested, drop us a note at jobs@ragingheroes.com.
The sculpting team is about to get much bigger too. We are spending the coming weeks recruiting and testing new 3D sculptors.
We are also working on the recruiting of a Sales and Marketing Manager and a Logistics Manager. Then we'll be flying to the USA to meet with our resin foundry and work together on production planning and scheduling. So as you can see the bulk of our work in the next few weeks will be mostly devoted to management and organisation.

Hello all! I just wanted to give an update that Frontline Gaming received the packages from TGOTG so anyone who chose our location to pick up please contact the store. The reason I'm posting here is that several of the boxes only have names on them and no contact info.

They're only talking about Paypal being able to up Pledge levels. They are treating the paypal option as "an extra 3 weeks of the KS campaign", cause KS isn't flexible enough for them to decide giving it an extra week or 2

As I said in the other thread. Since most of the troops recycle poses for individual parts, I can't understand why they didn't push it to get into plastic production. The torsos are all exactly the same. Some gun arms are different, the helmeted heads are all the same. Since they are so wee, a sprue could have fit, easily, a squad of ten.
how long those of us with bikes/mechs etc will have to wait?
but I'm sure they'll eventually arrive
(and even if you were worried about the companies financial stability the second KS will have fixed that for now)

It could have been a good option, but (correct me here) plastic moulds need a much larger investment.... As to identical-looking torsos, it's not that far for a box of GW Guardsmen is it? And no where near the 5 Static metal Sisters poses lol

They went in with less than half the funds, were later than RH by only a little margin and got troops affordable and really, really poseable. Mould cost has gone down too, if you know how to splice your parts and don't need fancy slide-core moulds.

I'd also agree with that ! I think the RH sculpts are very very nice, but i do also think that plastics could have been an option. I vaguely remember them covering "Why" in an update, with costing and detail being the main factors, with a focus on good details (which we know plastic might not always provide).

For Dreamforge, the KS money did not actually cover the cost of the molds. Wargames Factory footed the bill for much of it, because they wanted a solid sci-fi line of minis in their catalog.

Again, I think that's an issue of taste. I find the Rh troops to be very close to garbage. The bubbles are everywhere. Some gates are placed right in the middle of details. The running poses are ridiculous. Most of the legs are super-akimbo. If you get just the right angle, they can look fantastic, but re-positioning them on the tab for them not to run at an angle that defies gravity... it's just a lof of work. Plastic is just a known quantity. You know it reacts when you work it. Gluing is consistent. If I am going to have an army that is infantry heavy, I'd much rather have multipose minis. For all I know, I got a specific joke shipment. The heroines are top notch. In metal at least.
I'll repeat, though, different strokes and all.

So, just got my freebie models, and they are awesome, but the undercoat will not stick at all despite having washed in soapy water!! I have used army painter base spray on undercoats. Any ideas??

Are you using dishwashing detergent (like Dawn), not "soap"? I did notice that the surfaces of the freebies do seem to be quite slick, but have not tried to paint one.
That's always worked for me (with maybe the odd scrub with a toothbrush is the mini feels really slick)
another option is to do a quick wash in undiluted Dettol or Pine-Sol (one of those disinfectants that goes white and cloudy when you add water) it does make thing smell, but is a good cleaner of last resort for mould release...,
then rise in more fresh Dettol (more a recommendation when paint stripping as if you add water right away the old paint can form a sticky mess, but probably good practice), finally wash in water
I've had to use it occasionally for some 80's scale model kits from eastern Europe that used to have really bad and hard to shift mould release on
I would use concentrated Simple Green. Doesn't make resin brittle or dissolve your skin like Pine-Sol or other such things can, but generally takes off just about anything.
Army Painter isn't exactly a reliable primer in my experience, it's always a not so fun game of primer roulette finding out if your can is crap or not.
I re washed the minis in the same dish washing liquid and scrubbed with a toothbrush. No problems after that! Just needed more elbow grease. On another note, I've never had any problems with army painter primers. I used to use half odds when I lived in the uk, but have struggled to find any acrylic spray primers in australia....
I use autobody primers as well, when I don't airbrush on primer. Those bad boys stick, and often have a shrinking feature that makes them a little more forgiving when you put on too much.
I am pretty anti-Army Painter after some bad experiences 4-5 years ago with their dark flesh "primer" that was super glossy and had no tooth to hold on more paint. Their white was ok as a light top coat, and their bone was passable, though still glossier than I like.
Yeah I'm an auto primer person as well, for several reasons:
1. I can get a can from the local hardware for like $4 a can, and get White/Grey/Black
2. The tooth is fantastic. It takes a few quick sprays to get enough paint without hiding any details. It can take at least 2 coats of base coat before I'm willing to put the natural fiber brushes to the mini, but there's never a loss of detail.
3. It dries in the cold. I'm able to prime inside the garage with it being roughly 30 degrees fahrenheit without any problems. I do keep the can warm and the mini warm before spraying, but it lets me prime in the winter.
It hasn't been a month since the last update. Anyone hoping that they would see the light, come out of the darkness and communicate more frequently was deluding themselves.
Ok, now that the horrible puns are out of the way, they were looking to hire a comms person. It did take them three weeks to issue me an invoice and send me my missing stuff from KS1. It's just the way they roll.
Which doesn't mean I like it in the slightest. But, as they say, Sho ga nai.

Use the stone at the bottom of your hat, and make sure you hang a sheet so the person taking dictation cannot see the gold tablets. Everyone else has to take it on faith that there are indeed gold tablets at all.

More Sculpting News
So the lists above total 27 references that are going to the printer within the next two weeks. (A reference represents either a Heroine or a box of Troops.)
We also have about the same amount of references that are currently in a fairly advanced state. They will make up the following batches.
Another very big part of our work now is recruiting and training new sculptors to our methods. But that takes a lot of time, and can be quite frustrating.
Obviously, in general terms, the larger the team, the faster the sculpting of the full project. And so we are continually seeking new sculptors to work with us. But the work is challenging and, for various reasons, few are those who actually manage to meet the Raging Heroes miniatures needs, which requires a combination of sculpting skills, attention to details, technical proficiency, and an artistic eye. It's a lot of trail and error for us and for them, but as the team grows, it makes the completion of the project faster and more efficient.
New Test Prints
Because a 3D model is shown on a 2D screen and in a large size, it can never quite perfectly represent how the actual miniature will be. And so, as part of our sculpting process, we are now doing more test prints to better assess scale and tweak details. Because of the small size of the final miniature, 3D renders tend to create optical illusions that can cloud our perception. For example, most models look fatter and squatter in 3D.
We wanted to share with you a few of the test prints that we've done over the past few weeks. Some of them are really not showable, but we have selected a few that are close enough to the final thing. Please keep in mind that you'll see some strange stuff going on here, like missing details, snapped off elements, imperfect ball-joint connexions, etc.
As much as they are work-on-progress however, we do think that these pics are pretty exciting, and we just had to share them with you.
Our old Mantis are already very popular. We've sold many of them, and we're very found of these older sculpts. But when we compare them to the new version, well... the new ones are SO much better. They are also a bit larger than before, as the general consensus was that the older sculpts are a bit on the small side.

Remember this? In the last Update, we said that if there were over 300 shares on Facebook, the Dark Elf and the Void Elf Sorceresses would be unlocked. Well, you did it, with 378 shares!! And so, the 2 Sorceresses are now UNLOCKED!
And we've got even better news for you. We recently began working with a new sculptor whose style was perfectly fitting for that particular model. And so, much ahead of schedule, the Fantasy version Sorceress is now sculpted. You may have noticed that we altered the shape of her cape. That is simply because the shape on the concept was not working well in 3D.

Final Renders
You may have seen earlier versions of some of the sculpts below during the Kickstarter. But they were all work-in-progress at the time. If you look closely, you'll be able to spot the many differences.
While a sculpt may look finished when shown under one angle, in the end, we're going for real world 3D objects and so, a good part of the sculpting process is spent adjusting the 2D concept to 3D volumes.
Zailith is a very good example of this. The base sculpt was created in just a few hours. It then took several days to really bring her to life, create a pose that would not only match the concept's front view but also give her real attitude and motion as a 3D piece, and make sure to finish all the details and then, of course, cut it and prepare it for print.
Say WHAT? Santa Dolores Goes Bi? (No, it's not what you think...)
After many tests and much deliberation, we finally decided not to make two different versions of Santa Dolores and instead, make one version for both Sci-Fi and Fantasy. Every time we gave her technological gear or any other sort of mechanical implant, she would really lose something. So unless we and you come up with a new brilliant thought for a separate SciFi version, Santa Dolores will remain as is and will fit both armies. We do think that her ghostly/possessed appearance will perfectly work in most any types of settings.

Indeed, after an additional bonus unlock with the DE and VE Sorceresses, you are now getting an additional Minion for free!
That's because when we started sculpting the Minions, there was a slight mix-up with the concepts, and an additional one was sent to the sculptor. And so, we ended with 7 Minions, instead of the 6 originally planned... Well, we were not going to simply ignore the extra one, now, were we? So there will be now be a box containing 7 Minions instead of the original 6.

Production Queue Update
In our previous update, we shared with you a list of the sculpts that were to be dealt with in the second batch. However, for the sake of practicality, you need to know that such lists are always somewhat fluid.
This proved to be the case this month: as we added new sculptors to the team (and, unfortunately, had to remove some as well), we played up to their strengths to maximise productivity. This means that while several models have progressed but are still in the Near Completion queue, new sculpts are now In Progress or Near Completion, and one got Completed ahead of time.

3D Printing the Sculpts
So, what happens once a sculpt is fully completed? Well, that's when we prepare it for 3D printing. This preparation includes making sure that there are no holes in the mesh, that all angles are sharp and well-defined, that details are large enough to look good in a 28mm mini, etc. Once it meets all of those requirements, it is ready to go to 3D printing.
The 3D printing service takes from one to two weeks to send back the prints. When we receive a print, we immediately review it. If it's not good, it goes back for fixing. If it's good, then we sit down to clean this master. Once that's done, we can then send it to the foundry to be placed in the casting queue. If it is a sculpt that will be produced in both metal and resin, then it first goes to the metal foundry before moving on to the resin one.
Unfortunately, we don't have 3D print photos for you for this Update, as it so happens that our 3D printer took his yearly vacations during the month of June. Therefore, we have a batch of sculpts awaiting 3D printing. They will be processed as soon as he's back.
So, let me get this straight; even after the fact that the previous KS is still unfulfilled and this company's track record of complete randomness, people saw fit to give them an additional $801,057? It boggles the mind. Sure, the models look great but you might be dead by the time they actually release them.
All I can say is, these girls must be REALLY tough if all they wear to a battle is their knickers. Why do female fantasy/sci-fi characters all seem to be some kind of wish fulfilment designed for people who don't know any real women?
Imagine everyday dealings - political rallies, meetings, judgements, status updates, training, dealing with other people - if the woman is wearing only knickers and bra. Hard to imagine she'd be taken very seriously, or present much authority...

didn't know that. Hopefully they aren't bad. Do you own the previous models? I'm going to check out pics of them, I have only seen one guy painting them and they were nice.
Make sure you test fit her to a base. Unless you want to be stuck like me, fitting something under her foot.
